‘Microsoft Studios’, a new game initiative headed by Microsoft, has been revealed. This project aims to give teams of all sizes greater creative freedom and control, whilst giving them access to Microsoft’s resources to create new games with little restriction. The following teams have already signed onto the project and will be relocating to a new building in Santa Monica, California.

The four main studios obtained by Microsoft are:

  • Playground games (Creators of ‘Forza Horizon’ and a new unannounced open-world project)
  • Ninja Theory (Creators of ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’)
  • Compulsion (Creators of ‘We Happy Few’)
  • Undead labs (Creators of ‘State of Decay’)
