NetEase Games and developer 24 Entertainment are excited to reveal the Lunar New Year event in Naraka: Bladepoint! The melee battle royale celebrates by introducing the new hero Shayol Wei, revisiting the Bruce Lee collaboration and launching a number of activities to earn in-game items and – most importantly – good fortune in the new year!
Shayol Wei, the Justice Vigilant
Ever since she was a child, Shayol has been haunted by the same dream. Lost in a maze engulfed in mist, which she escapes thanks to a mystic golden blade and her sense of justice.
This theme of pursuit is reflected in Shayol’s gameplay. Naraka’s newest hero wields the legendary Black Tortoise Shield to block strikes, which grants her charges. Shayol can use these charges to negate attacks and mark enemies, allowing for a swift, long-range follow-up attack.
Bruce Lee Collaboration
To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, the Bruce Lee collaboration series will return to Naraka: Bladepoint! The sought after “Dragon Shadow” cosmetic series, featuring outfits of the legendary Little Dragon, will be available again for a limited time. Additionally, the “Dragon Will” cosmetic series, which is always available in the in-game shop, will be discounted.
Lunar New Year In-game Events
The new year brings a number of amazing in-game activities to Naraka: Bladepoint – and everyone’s invited! Every full hour, Red Envelopes will rain from the sky onto the battle royale’s lobbies, which can be picked up and opened to receive avatars, emotes and other festive items! Players can also spend in-game currency to trigger Red Envelope Rains in their own name! Other than this and additional daily login rewards, the community will be able to collect food for the Four Heavenly Gods during the event “Spring Festival Flavour”, also earning them sweet rewards and good fortune for the new year.
“Naraka: Bladepoint and its community have been growing exponentially in the last 12 months, which is a huge success for us in many different ways – especially considering the strong competition within the battle royale genre!”, says Ethan Wang, Senior Vice President of NetEase, Inc.. “We wish all our players and partners a cheerful Spring Festival as well as good fortune in the new year!”
Naraka: Bladepoint is free to play and available now on PC, PlayStation®, Xbox® and mobile devices.
