Fenris Creations has launched EVE Online: Cradle of War, the latest expansion for the long-running sci-fi MMO. This one sounds like it is handing capsuleers a bigger spanner and saying, “Go on then, break New Eden.”

As per the press release, Cradle of War kicks off Theatres of War, a three-expansion arc focused on empire warfare. It gives players new ways to influence conflict, change infrastructure, and leave lasting marks across New Eden.

At the heart of all this chaos are Military Campaigns, a new system that turns individual player actions into larger war efforts. Fighting, hauling, mining, scouting, and supplying all feed into campaign progress. So yes, even if your idea of warfare is “I brought the rocks,” you still matter.

Military Campaigns let every capsuleer join the war

Military Campaigns connect thousands of capsuleer actions into wider, coordinated conflicts. The results can reshape infrastructure, create new stargate links, and permanently change parts of New Eden.

That means empire warfare is no longer just for frontline combat pilots with terrifying ship names and even scarier spreadsheets. Builders, miners, industrialists, mission runners, fleet commanders, and rookies all now have a clearer role in the fight.

Bergur Finnbogason, Creative Director for EVE Online, said Cradle of War gives every capsuleer more ways to leave their mark. He also pointed to the new PvP-free starter system as a way for new players to find their footing before diving into the wider conflict.

Or, in classic EVE terms, learn which buttons do what before someone vaporises your pride and joy.

Exordium gives rookie pilots a safer start

One of the biggest additions is Exordium Starter Space, EVE’s first shared PvP-free starter region. It is designed to improve new player onboarding by giving rookies a place to learn together, meet mentors, build confidence, and contribute to starter-friendly Military Campaign objectives.

It is a smart move for a game famous for its scale, politics, danger, and occasional “what have I just signed up for?” energy.

Cradle of War also adds eight new ships. Four new Tech II Command Carriers bring capital-scale fleet support through command bursts, battlefield control, and better coordination in major engagements. Meanwhile, four new Navy Destroyers offer fast and affordable options for both newer and veteran capsuleers across PvE, PvP, and Factional Warfare.

The expansion also introduces Titles and Achievements, giving pilots new ways to track progress and show off their identity across New Eden. These titles appear during player interactions, helping capsuleers display their accomplishments, reputation, and role in the universe.

On the lore side, the new Visions of Greatness Epic Arc lets players relive four defining moments in New Eden’s history. Each empire gets its own hyper-real simulation, giving rookies a clearer look at faction identity while offering veterans a fresh way to experience legendary EVE lore.

Finally, the Theatres of War Dashboard pulls campaign goals, live progress, personal contributions, Factional Warfare activity, pirate FOBs, and other war systems into one central place.

With Cradle of War now live, EVE Online’s empire conflict is getting broader, busier, and more accessible. Whether players are commanding fleets, hauling supplies, mining resources, or taking their first nervous steps into space, the expansion makes one thing clear: New Eden’s future is very much up for grabs.
