The Natural History Museum’s Pokémon pop-up has already sold out before doors even opened, but we’ve just had a peek at what fans can expect-including exclusive merch and a very special Pikachu card.

Running from 26 January to 19 April 2026, the Pokémon x Natural History Museum pop-up celebrates a new theme: Pokécology. Inspired by the Japanese book Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology, the event blends the world of Pokémon with real-world science, focusing on how Pokémon might evolve, survive, and live in different habitats-just like creatures in nature.

A Pikachu Promo Card and Loads of Exclusive Merch

Visitors to the pop-up will score a gift-with-purchase: an oversized Pokémon TCG promo card featuring Pikachu at the Museum. From 30 January, the same card will be available at select UK retailers while stocks last-but not on Pokémon Center.

The merch lineup is packed with exclusive goodies. Think:

  • Designs inspired by the Museum’s Hintze Hall and its botanical ceiling-complete with Grass-types like Ivysaur and Victreebel
  • Water, Bug, and Eevee-themed products inspired by old-school nature illustrations
  • Pins, stationery, plushies, clothing, posters, gold-plated decorations, bags, and more

If you missed out on a ticket, there’s still hope-many of these items will be available online from 26 January at the Natural History Museum shop
and in early February on Pokémon Center UK. Online orders will also have purchase limits to keep it fair for fans.

All for a Good Cause

Profits from Museum shop sales go directly to supporting the Museum’s work, including 400 scientists tackling the climate and biodiversity crisis.

Tickets may be gone, but there’s still plenty of ways to be part of this one-of-a-kind Pokémon celebration. Keep your eyes on Pokémon Center and UK retailers if you’re hoping to get your hands on that limited Pikachu card or some of the beautiful new merch.
