After plenty of anticipation, Witchbrook finally has a release date. Chucklefish has confirmed that its cosy witch life-sim will launch on 28 January 2027, bringing magical college life to PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox and PlayStation 5.

The announcement came during Nintendo Indie World, alongside a new gameplay trailer showing off life at Witchbrook College. The newly confirmed PlayStation 5 version also joins the launch line-up, so there’s no shortage of places to practise your spellcasting.

Developed by Chucklefish with co-development support from Robotality, Witchbrook will cost $24.99, with regional pricing to be confirmed closer to launch. It’ll also be available through Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Witchbrook Brings Magic, Friendship and College Life Together

In Witchbrook, players enrol as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College, located in the charming seaside town of Mossport.

Naturally, becoming a fully qualified witch involves more than waving a wand around and hoping for the best. You’ll attend classes in Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot, Rituals and other magical subjects, completing assignments and passing exams to unlock new spells.

The latest trailer offers another look at student life, including potion-making, tarot readings, library visits and encounters with magical creatures.

However, there’s plenty to do outside the classroom too. Players can explore Mossport, build friendships, pursue romance and even start their own witch business to help the local community.

For those who prefer taking things at their own pace, Witchbrook also offers a variety of relaxing activities. You can go fishing, catch bugs, watch birds, join clubs and participate in seasonal events.

There’s also a cosy woodland cottage waiting to be renovated, complete with a customisable garden. Meanwhile, character customisation lets you personalise your witch with different clothing, hairstyles and accessories.

And if studying magic alone sounds a little lonely, Witchbrook supports online co-op for up to four players, allowing friends to experience college life and explore Mossport together.

Witchbrook Launches in January With Day-One Game Pass Access

Witchbrook launches on 28 January 2027 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

The game will be priced at $24.99, although UK and other regional prices haven’t been confirmed yet. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also be able to play from launch day.

Chucklefish has confirmed support for ten languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

With magical lessons, friendships, romance, cottage renovations and four-player co-op all on the timetable, Witchbrook looks set to keep aspiring witches rather busy come January.

Just remember to revise for those exams between fishing trips.
