Warframe just keeps on giving, and Digital Extremes are back with another chunky update. The Vallis Undermind goes live October 15 across all platforms, packing in a brand-new cinematic quest, the 62nd Warframe, fresh missions, cosmetics galore, and a free Oberon giveaway for anyone logging in during launch week. Oh, and did we mention mushroom mischief?
The Teacher Arrives to Help New Players Actually Learn Modding
Yes, it’s taken 12 years, but Warframe is finally ready to explain its famously baffling modding system. The new quest The Teacher, co-developed with Sumo Digital, stars none other than Teshin guiding new players through the basics. Expect tailored encounters that can only be beaten by modding smartly, plus some juicy lore nuggets for veterans. Finish it up and you’ll unlock the new Thornbak rifle.
Meet Nokko: The Mushroom Warframe
Say hello to Nokko, Warframe number 62, and Fortuna’s cheeky fungal troublemaker. His kit revolves around mushroom spores, buffs, and a rather adorable transformation into a baby Sprodling that heals while sending enemies to sleep. Want him? Either grind Nightcap’s new bounties in the Deepmines or grab him instantly with Platinum.
The Deepmines and Nightcap Bring Fungal Chaos
The update also opens up The Deepmines, a mushroom-infested expansion beneath Fortuna. A new vendor, Nightcap, offers bounties against Corpus scientists and a side of weirdness with his Foraging Journal. Complete tasks, collect mushrooms, and feed “The Prince”-an ominous, ever-hungry mushroom that unlocks visions of lore when satisfied. Proper Warframe weirdness.
Oberon Reworked, Free for All
Fan favourite Oberon is finally getting a polish. His passive is sharper, healing is cleaner, and his Reckoning hits harder. Log in between October 15–21 and you’ll get Oberon for free, no grinding required.
A Tease of What’s Next: Roathe the Protoframe
Digital Extremes also teased Roathe, the first Orokin Protoframe voiced by René Zagger (yep, Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV). He’s set to eventually become the devil-themed Warframe Uriel in The Devil’s Triad later this year.
Cosmetics, Naberus, and Charity Goodies
On the style side, Lavos and Wukong are getting new deluxe skins, TennoGen is dropping six fresh player-made designs, and Warframe’s annual spooky event Nights of Naberus returns with new rewards. Nightwave Vol. 10 also brings Day of the Dead-themed cosmetics. Plus, Digital Extremes’ Quest to Conquer Cancer fundraiser is back, with unlockable skins tied to donation milestones.
When Can You Dive In?
The Vallis Undermind launches October 15 on all platforms, with events, freebies, and mushroom-fuelled chaos running throughout spooky season.
