A new extended look at ‘Death Stranding’, Hideo Kojima’s first game since going independent, was shown at E3 today.
Almost as cryptic as the previous trailer, this new look did tell us a few things:
- Norman Reedus’ character is indeed the player character, and appears to work as some sort of delivery person, carrying everything from non-descript boxes to human corpses on his back.
- The world is inhabited by invisible monsters and appears to be the empty countryside in a nonetheless science-fiction setting.
- 4 Hollywood actors are set to appear, including Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen
The game doesn’t have any combat- at least, none was shown in the trailer. Instead, there appears to be a deep focus on an exploration of the landscape and cinematic storytelling.
