Jet-Combat With Swords: “Hyperspace Dogfights” Announced
Sleeper Games’ new air brawler has you blast, dodge and slice your way through waves of technologically inferior enemies, in ill-fated attempts to prevent planetary extinction events.
While making progress with their space-opera game “Hyperspace Admirals” and potentially securing third party funding in the process, the Germany based studio Sleeper Games has also been prototyping a side project. In their free-flowing 2d rogue-like “Hyperspace Dogfights” you’ll control the fast-evolving fighter jet, fighting against waves of air and ground-based enemies. As the game progresses, the player jet becomes stronger and weirder by acquiring some of the hundreds of items available in the game. Overall the game unifies elements from shmup games and hack-and-slash action, framed within a rogue-like system featuring permadeath and many unlockables.
For Hyperspace Dogfights, Sleeper Games wanted to focus on game feel and faster prototyping. The initial three month dev cycle for Dogfights resulted in a condensed but refined product, featuring fluid 2d movement of the player jet, various enemy types and weapons, as well as dozens of passive items and a final boss for the first zone.

Episodic Adventure ‘Knee Deep’ to Raise the Curtains this January on PS4 and Xbox One
Independent UK games publisher, Wales Interactive, have announced release dates, price and pre-orders for the episodic adventure game Knee Deep, developed by Prologue Games. Knee Deep will launch 31st January 2017 for PlayStation 4 and 3rd February 2017 on Xbox One for £11.99/$14.99. Starting today, Xbox gamers will also have the chance to pre-order their digital copy on the Xbox Store.

Months ago, FABULA EPICA embarked on their own quest to rediscover the genre of JRPG’s. During their soul-searching mission, they unearthed past consumer surveys, conducted new research, re-read every game review, listened to lots of passionate pleas and opinions from gamers and re-played through every well known products. From this introspection and open-minded search for a fresh perspective, Guardians of Arcadia was born.
Guardians of Arcadia is a single-player RPG with inspiration in the successes of the 1990’s. The game will incorporate popular elements of games on that decade. Some of those elements are the design of chibi characters, random battles, the combat system through menus, and a fully explorable world.

Torn Tales Launch Date Announced!
Chilled Mouse and Twistplay are delighted to announce that Torn Tales will be released on January 17th 2017. The game will be available for Windows, Mac and Linux via Steam and the Humble Store.
Torn Tales will retail at $12.99, £9.99 and €12.99. The game will be available to pre-order with a 20% discount for one week starting on the 10th January. For the existing Beta players there is a final update live on Steam which mostly covers graphical improvements to the game, some performance improvements, some tweaks to the tutorial and a few more named grave stones!
