Just minutes ago, Atlus’ official YouTube channel released a trailer for the anticipated Royal version of Persona 5. This new edition of the game will feature a brand new Phantom Thief, graphical and score changes, and a new area filled with new Social Links.
The new Phantom Thief – Kasumi Yoshizawa – is a mysterious transfer student, new to Shujin Academy. Little is known about her at this point, except that she appears to be a proficient dancer.
The new area in this edition of the game is an urban centre named Kichijoji, which some die-hard series fans may recall is the hometown of the Protagonist from the first Shin Megami Tensei title, from which the Persona series span off. There will no doubt be some neat easter eggs and nods to uncover as a result.
Persona 5: The Royal will release in Japan on the 31st of October, though a Western release is rumoured to be delayed until 2020. Consoles at this moment are as yet unconfirmed. The announcement trailer is embedded below for your convenience (it’s all in Japanese, though).
