Announced back on the 27th October, the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 ReMIX, a collection of nearly every Kingdom Hearts game available, has been announced to be releasing on PS4 on March 9th 2017 for Japan, March 28th 2017 in North America, and March 31st 2017 for Europe. This follows the recent release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8’s Opening Cinematic, which shows some of the final plot moments before the release Kingdom Hearts 3.
The ReMIX package contains:
- Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Cutscene Movie
- Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded Cutscene Movie
Combine this with the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Collection releasing in January next year, which contains:
- Kingdom Hearts 3D (Dream Drop Distance) HD
- Kingdom Hearts X (Chi / Key) Story Movie
- Kingdom Hearts 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage
…And you’ll have every single Kingdom Hearts game on PS4, ready in time for Kingdom Hearts 3. It certainly is a wealthy bundle, all things considered! Even though I’ve got both 1.5 and 2.5, I’m still going to pick up the ReMIX collection to go through every game, one last time, in glorious 60fps!
Also announced were the return of the much-beloved Drive Forms from Kingdom Hearts 2 in Kingdom Hearts 3! Shown off in a series of tweets and press-releases, the new images show off Sora in his new Guard Form, where his equipped Keyblade transforms into a Shield that can be used to boost Sora’s defence, protect against large attacks, and even be thrown Captain America-style to slice foes!
Personally as a self-proclaimed KH2 Fanboy, I am SO relieved that Drive Forms are coming back…However, since they were tied to Sora’s clothing, how will Square Enix explain their reappearance?
