The Escapists 2 reveals new western map, Rattlesnake Springs

Award-winning international games label Team17 and developer Mouldy Toof today celebrated the reveal of a brand new western themed map for The Escapists 2 with the release of the new Rattlesnake Springs gameplay trailer.

Howdy, partner! It’s well known in the old west that if you evade the hangman’s noose, the local Sheriff sends you upstate to Rattlesnake Springs. Rustled up alongside the lowest outlaws in the county, you decide to break out of this calaboose – by hook or crook!

Get a sneak peek at Rattlesnake Springs before The Escapists 2 launches later this year in the new gameplay trailer.

The Escapists 2 is the forthcoming sequel to the multi-million selling, award-winning sandbox prison-escape game which will include, in a first for the series, drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play.

Escaping won’t be easy though. You’ll have to work around the strict prison schedule and avoid the unwanted attention of guards. Craft weapons and tools found (or stolen) from within the prison, but beware of cell shakedowns. Get a job or perform “favours” for your fellow inmates to purchase vital supplies, all while scouting escape routes.

The Escapists 2 will feature:

  • Multiplayer – In a first for the series, The Escapists 2 offers drop-in/drop-out play offering both split screen and online play for up to four players in both co-op and versus modes
  • New ways to escape – Tie together knotted sheets and use them to climb down high windows in our new multi-level prisons and other new ways to make a break for freedom!
  • New items to craft – Build yourself a homemade taser to knock out guards plus many more!
  • New combat system – A completely revamped combat system featuring new lock-on targeting and blocking systems plus light and heavy attacks
  • New graphical style – A brand new look immerses players in a deeper, richer world while maintaining that unique The Escapists style
  • More character customisation – New customisation options let players tweak their avatar to a whole new level. Go bald! Sport a mullet! The choice is yours
  • More things to do – Join a band! Learn to paint! The Escapists 2 will offer more ways than ever to pass the time whilst incarcerated

The Escapists 2 will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2017.

WARFRAME STRIKES A CHORD WITH OCTAVIA’S ANTHEM UPDATE ON PLAYSTATION 4 AND XBOX ONE
It’s time to dance this mess around! Independent developer and publisher Digital Extremes, creators of the free-to-play cooperative online action game Warframe, bring the first record-breaking PC update of 2017, Octavia’s Anthem, to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. Marching to the beat of its own drum, Octavia’s Anthem treads a musical theme with Octavia, a dancing, beat-busting Warframe unlike any before it, along with a new quest, and two powerful creative tools sure to get players tapping their feet and posing like Frame-istas.

Octavia’s Anthem has Warframe players journeying through an original quest in search of the musically enchanted Octavia Warframe. Along with Octavia comes the introduction of a simple-to-use musical instrument, the Mandachord, which enables players to compose original songs and synchronize them to their weapons to rhythmically dominate the enemy. Music isn’t just a tool of destruction in this update, however, as players can create musical arrangements in cooperation with other Tenno and trade songs. Its flexibility and ease-of-use has inspired throngs of PC influencers and YouTubers to create their own tunes and re-create pop tune favorites en masse.

Having generated so much excitement and creativity amongst its user-base, known as Tenno, Digital Extremes has created a new Musical Montage Video to showcase their works.

Aesthetically, the update digs deep into the Warframe glamor life with the high-end capture tool, Captura, which turns average Warframe screen captures into chic shots worthy of framing and hanging. Tenno can capture, edit, enhance, and then share their customized Warframes using the ‘Share’ button on PS4 and the ‘Xbox’ button on Xbox One. New Weapons, Helmets, Glyphs, TennoGen and more are also included in this update, available today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for free.

That’s all for news today!
