War Thunder: ‘Regia Aeronautica’ released!

Gaijin Entertainment today announced the release of Update 1.69 ‘Regia Aeronautica’ for its vehicular combat MMOG War Thunder. “Regia Aeronautica” unlocks Italy as War Thunder’s sixth nation, initially offering a formidable line-up of 35 of the most historically accurate representations of their famous Air Force in any computer game ever.  Other features include new aircraft and tanks for four other nations, the long-awaited ability to launch smoke shells and smokescreens from tanks, new realistic recreations of battlefields, and support for PlayStation 4 Pro.

The Regia Aeronautica
The new Italian aircraft tree stretches from Italy’s famous biplanes of the 1930’s to its powerful jet fighters of the 1960s. Among the latter is the Fiat G.91, a light, fast and agile fighter-bomber that is highly versatile in combat, thanks to its rapid-firing, heavy Browning machine guns, bombs and 38 rockets. Italian bombers include highlights such as the heavy four-engined Piaggio P.108B, which can carry a staggering 3.5 tons of bombs or three torpedoes. Its sister model, the ship hunter P.108A, comes equipped with a massive 102mm anti-ship cannon with 50 rounds of ammunition, which is now the largest aviation weapon in the game by far. All players will get gradual access to the new nation’s aircraft, with new models being unlocked for research every few days. More information will follow in the Developer’s Blog at: http://www.warthunder.com/en/devblog

New ground vehicles
The United States gets access to a new top-rank vehicle, the M60A2 “Starship”, which can fire both conventional shells and guided-missiles from its 152mm cannon. For the Soviet Union, the T-55A is introduced as a worthy successor to the T-54, sporting excellent close combat and flanking capabilities. The German tree sees its first armored car, the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 “Puma” with a rapid-firing 50mm cannon.

Smoke shells and smokescreen launchers
Two completely new features in War Thunder are smoke shells and smokescreen launchers.  The former, will allow tankers to deploy protective smoke over large distances, while the latter is an effective method to hide from enemy fire while repairing on the battlefield or defending a capture point.

Three new locations
The ground battles location ‘Kuban’ has been greatly revamped, which will make tank combat on the new location much more tactical and varied. For pilots, the hot sands of ‘Tunisia’ await, while naval captains can now assault the Black Sea on the new ‘Black Sea Port’ map.

PlayStation 4 Pro support
Now, thanks to the improved performance of the PlayStation 4 Pro console, owners can play War Thunder in native 4K resolution.

LEGO Worlds Expands the Creative Building Experience with New Sandbox Mode

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group today released the first game update for LEGO Worlds , a galaxy of imaginative worlds made of digital LEGO bricks. The new content, available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and STEAM, expands the LEGO Worlds universe with Sandbox Mode and adds highly requested game features, new themes and smoother UI.

Executive Assault; the real time strategy/first person shooter game which has sold over 50,000 copies is now moving into outer space with a sequel.

Orbiting the planet, your HQ now floats majestically through the heavens. Connect spaceship factories, robot assemblers, trading ports, and defence platforms to help take over the quadrant. Then go into FPS mode and defend the station from the inside, take control of the turrets, get into a fighter ship and have a fly about or just simply enjoy the view as you watch your station run.

In Executive Assault 2 you can play the game in RTS mode building your space station, trade with passing merchants, manufacture a fleet of huge star ships, assemble robots to help protect your station or attack someone else’s, setup station security with forcefields and turrets, power management and research new and exciting technologies.

You can also play in FPS mode walking around the space station you just built, interact with various systems, help out by manning turrets or just grabbing a gun, take fighter ships out for a spin to explore new systems or defend the station or board a star ship and join the fleet attacking an opponents station.

Grim Dawn sells over 1 million copies

Crate Entertainment are thrilled to announce that Grim Dawn has now sold over one million copies on PC, plus over 200k copies of the Crucible arena mode DLC!

In celebration of this epic milestone, we’ve marked Grim Dawn 50% off through our website until the end of May. It is also currently 50% off through Humble Store, during their spring encore sale!

It’s crazy to think that this success story somehow arose from such humble and uncertain beginnings, overcoming so many setbacks and challenges. I repeatedly questioned what I was doing those first three, hard years of development. Looking back, I think the only thing that kept me going on the bad days, was the responsibility I felt to see it through, for the people who had invested time in the project and those who supported us early on through our website. Even with that drive to see it through, no matter my doubts, the later support of thousands more backers on Kickstarter and Early Access, validated what we were doing and gave us a real shot at making the dream a reality.

It was still a long road and lot of sweat and tears, from the 2012 Kickstarter to our 2016 release but I had the great fortune to find amazing teammates who made that journey a lot easier and the game much better than it could have been otherwise. Much thanks must also go to my long-time friends “Rhis,” “Jmack” and Brian Parnell (now working on his own project Praey for the Gods) – without their early help; Grim Dawn may have never got off the ground.

Since the release of Grim Dawn, the Crate team has grown to 14 developers. We’re now working to finish up the Grim Dawn expansion and, because we can never seem to make things easy on ourselves, we’ve started some other projects as well.

We’re looking forward to getting the Grim Dawn expansion into the hands of fans and we can’t wait to share news about our future projects. Until then, keep perfecting your builds, collecting those crafting mats, making morally questionable quest choices and remember it’s not healthy to spend too much time in the void!

…Oh and try not to piss off any gods (or do?), keep away from Loxmere and don’t eat too many untouched meals – who knows where they’ve been!

Sincerely,

Arthur and the Crate Team
