LKA.it and Wired Productions Unveil “Renée Unmasked” Video for First-Person Psychological Thriller, The Town of Light

To set the tone for the upcoming console debut of The Town of Light this spring, developer LKA.it and publisher Wired Productions are pleased to share an insider look at the protagonist of the chilling, historically-inspired and story-driven thriller set in a real (now abandoned) mental asylum in Tuscany, Italy. In the video titled Renée Unmasked, Studio Head at LKA.it Luca Dalcò recounts the backstory of Renée, a 16-year-old girl condemned to a life of suffering, as he touches on the character’s creation, the game’s themes of mental illness, and the studio’s desire to bring a sensitive subject and a dark chapter of history to light using a medium in which these topics are rarely explored.

About The Town of Light
Set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum – a former mental treatment facility based in Tuscany, Italy – The Town of Light is based on extensive research and inspired by first-hand accounts of the asylum’s patients. Played through the fictional eyes of Renée, a 16-year-old girl who suffers from the symptoms of mental illness, players must search for answers to the many questions from Renée’s past while exploring and uncovering the place where she spent most of her youth. What happens next is a dark and emotional journey where the lines of interactive entertainment, storytelling, and reality frequently tend to blur. The official trailer can be found at: https://youtu.be/ORSXOgy3-_8

An enhanced edition of the original, this new release of the first-person psychological thriller will offer new puzzles, additional story elements, reworked voiceover dialogue, more interactive elements and a huge graphical and UI overhaul that aims to deliver a more polished and immersive experience for its console and retail debut on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One this spring. Existing owners of the digital Windows PC version will receive this update free of charge.

Destiny 2 will be available on PlayStation®4 systems with additional timed exclusive content*, Xbox One (PlayStation®Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription, respectively, required for significant features), and for the first time in Destiny’s history, a new platform to enjoy this universe will be offered – Destiny 2 is coming to PC!

“Destiny was the biggest launch of a new console video game franchise ever. Along with our incredibly talented partners at Bungie, we are focusing on making Destiny 2 even better, with state of the art first person action, an awesome new story, great characters, and thoughtful innovations that make the game more accessible to all different kinds of players,” said Activision CEO, Eric Hirshberg.  “We’re also bringing Destiny 2 to the PC platform for the first time.  Destiny 2 will make an already great game franchise better than ever.”

In Destiny 2, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lays in ruins, occupied by a powerful new enemy and his elite army, the Red Legion. Every player creates their own character called a “Guardian,” humanity’s chosen protectors.  As a Guardian in Destiny 2, players must master new abilities and weapons to reunite the city’s forces, stand together and fight back to reclaim their home. Each of the three massive pyramids in Immortal Redneck contains randomly generated dungeons, all with different sets of enemies and bosses, ensuring every play through is different. The game also features nine playable character classes each with their own traits and characteristics, a complete skill tree where you can upgrade your skills, unlock new classes and abilities, over 50 weapons from the traditional to the unique, as well as permanent death.

May 19th launch date for creepy FMV whodunit The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker

Indie developer D’Avekki Studios has today announced a May 19th release date for FMV murder mystery, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.

Following in the footsteps of recent FMV successes Her StoryContradiction: Spot the Liar, and The Bunker, “TIMODD” is the first of its kind to allow players to type their own questions instead of choosing from a pre-determined list. The game has been in development for a year and is being launched following a successful week-long Steam Greenlight campaign and two closed beta tests.

The player takes on the role of a psychiatrist, tasked with treating the unusual patients of the recently deceased Doctor Dekker — one of whom murdered him. Patients will ask questions too, and player responses influence the nonlinear storyline which culminates in one of multiple endings. With six suspects and five optional side-quest patients including John Guilor (Ryan Rand from 2015’s Contradiction: Spot the Liar!)the game contains over 2000 full-screen HD videos, of which 1600+ are scripted  responses, totalling almost 7 hours of film.

“The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker puts the psychology in psychological horror,” explains co-writer Lynda Cowles. “Each character has layers of twisted story to uncover and the player can choose to help them and steer them towards their happiest ending, or hurt them and lead them somewhere much darker.”

The game is the studio’s first entry into the videogame market and was written, produced and filmed on a micro-budget (<£3,000) over the course of twelve months in the village of Gorefield in North Cambridgeshire, UK, and programmed in California, USA. Development was completely self-funded.

Launch date: 19th May 2017
Price: £6.99 / $8.99
