IMPACT WINTER RELEASES ON PC TOMORROW

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe and Mojo Bones are ready to launch their post-apocalyptic survival adventure IMPACT WINTER on PC Digital. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital versions will arrive later this year.

Your robot companion Ako-Light intercepts a radio transmission claiming that help will be arriving in 30 days. As Jacob Solomon, you must lead a team of 4 other survivors – all holed-up in an abandoned church – and try to survive until the rescue timer reaches zero. All of your abilities come from your team and your robot. You’ll use Ako-Light to drill for supplies, explore new areas, light darkened interiors and empty nights, carry your supplies, and track your position. You need your robot companion. But does Ako-Light need you?

“When we started working on Impact Winter, little did we realise how big the journey would become. Now, with a week until launch, we’re very nearly here. Impact Winter is often categorised as a ‘survival’ game, but our intention from the start was to try to and build on the genre through our love of Adventure and RPG games: a new take on the ‘survive-as-long-as-possible’ formula that plays with familiar rules. Prior to launch, we’d like to say a final thank you to all our supporters and collaborators. Impact Winter has been developed by a core team of 5 people – a huge undertaking for a game of this scale – and the support we’ve received along the way has been invaluable. Hopefully our passion for creating the world of Impact Winter is there for all to see.” said Stuart Ryall, Co-founder and game designer at Mojo Bones Ltd.

IMPACT WINTER is coming on 23rd May, 2017 on PC Digital and later this year for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digitally. For those who have pre-ordered the game they will also receive the exclusive soundtrack created by composer Mitch Murder. To learn more about IMPACT WINTER go to:  impact-winter.com

Symphonic Odysseys London celebrates the music of Nobuo Uematsu with spectacular live concert

Merregnon Studios, creator of the award winning Final Symphony and Symphonic Fantasies video game music concerts, returns to London’s famous Barbican Centre this summer as Symphonic Odysseys London makes its debut UK performance on June 20th, 2017.

Celebrating the life and work of one of video gaming’s greatest ever composers, Symphonic Odysseys London is the first ever UK concert dedicated solely to the music of Nobuo Uematsu.  Featuring breath-taking orchestral arrangements of some of Uematsu-san’s most popular melodies – including themes from Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and, of course, Final Fantasy – Symphonic Odysseys London is an unforgettable journey through 30 glorious years of video game music.

Performed by the world-famous London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Eckehard Stier, together with the London Symphony Chorus, acclaimed pianist Mischa Cheung and a full kazoo fanfare, Symphonic Odysseys London includes arrangements from Jonne Valtonen and Roger Wanamo, the composing team behind the critically acclaimed and best-selling album of Final Fantasy music, Final Symphony.

As part of the evening, Nobuo Uematsu himself will be there to talk to the audience and answer questions during a special ticketed, pre-concert show. Rightly considered the master of his field, having been recognised as the most popular video game composer in the world for the last five Classic FM Hall of Fame polls, Symphonic Odysseys London is sure to be the ultimate tribute to Nobuo Uematsu.

“Nobuo Uematsu has been a musical hero of mine for many years and it’s both a delight and a pleasure that we can celebrate his work with such an amazing concert in London,” said Symphonic Odysseys London producer, Thomas Böcker. “It’s always great to be back at the Barbican Centre, but I’m particularly excited that Uematsu-san can join us for what will be our 10th concert with the London Symphony Orchestra. Fans will not want to miss hearing Uematsu’s classic compositions, along with some of his less well known, but equally wonderful works too.”

“We’re hugely looking forward to performing Symphonic Odysseys London this summer,” said Gareth Davies, the LSO’s Chairman and Principal Flute. “Having previously played Nobuo Uematsu’s scores to packed concert halls around the world we know just how exciting the music is and how passionate the fans are. It’s always an immense privilege to be part of such a special evening and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Barbican.”

Tickets for Symphonic Odysseys London are still on sale, priced £30 to £65. Tickets are available from the official concert site: http://lso.co.uk/symphonicodysseys and the Barbican website: https://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?id=21003

GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 – BAIKEN SPOTLIGHT

GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2, the latest instalment in Arc System Works’ legendary GUILTY GEAR series, is right around the corner, coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Europe on May 26, 2017.

REV 2 is the perfect time to enter the world of GUILTY GEAR, with its ground-breaking graphical and animation systems, combat system that provides unrivalled creativity, top of class tutorials, improved online functionality and new accessibility options.

New characters join the fray in REV 2, with the inclusion of Baiken, a long-time fan favourite and Answer, playable for the first time in GUILTY GEAR. Let’s take a closer look at the former, The last Samurai herself – Baiken.

Check out the Baiken spotlight trailer:
https://youtu.be/qLyKEvrRrX4

One of the few people of Japanese descent left in the world of GUILTY GEAR after Japan was almost entirely destroyed in the crusades, Baiken is brash, impulsive, anti-social and motivated by a burning desire for revenge against Gears. She wanders the world looking for signs of That Man, the person she believes responsible for the death of her family and the crippling injuries she sustained as a child.

Despite only having one arm, Baiken has incredible skill with her katana and has developed a unique fighting style using a variety of weapons up her sleeve. Her ‘demon tools’ include a mace, cannon, bladed fan, hook, claw and a spear.

Baiken has a new trick, with her new projectile, the Suzuran Yashagatana, that shoots a rocket along the ground. She can utilize a Yellow Roman Candle to use the projectile to cover her approach.

In REV 2, Baiken is an offensively minded character with limited defensive tools. Her main defensive strategy is her Azami stance, which allows her to counter attacks, both on the ground and in the air.

Her mobility is slower, so she spends most her time controlling space with her sword, mace and infamous tatami mat, while trying to corner her opponents and looking for a knockdown opportunity.

Baiken shines when she knocks the opponent down, with several options for putting on the pressure and making her opponents crack.

Try out Baiken now for free – a GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 demo is available now on PlayStationTMNetwork for all PS Plus users.

GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 is available as a stand-alone physical and digital release for PS4, but it will also be available as a digital upgrade via PSN for Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- for both PS4 and PS3.
