Crusader Kings II Celebrates Five Years Without Being Poisoned

On Valentine’s Day 2012, Paradox Development Studio and Paradox Interactive released Crusader Kings II, a game about Medieval conquest, intrigue, diplomacy, and faith. Over the last five years, Paradox has updated, supported and expanded Crusader Kings II and it continues to challenge the development team’s imagination. Over the last five years, the game has sold over a million copies, not counting the many hundreds of thousands of sales for the many expansions and cosmetic DLC.

Crusader Kings II launched Paradox Development Studio into a new era of popular success, demonstrating that broad and complex games about serious subjects could find a large audience. For half a decade, the game’s community has shared stories of world conquest, daring Crusades, accidental empires and soul-compromising sins.

Let’s be honest; there has been a lot of murder.

To mark this milestone, Paradox will dedicate much of 2017 to celebrating Crusader Kings II and its community. The first step in this year of modern medieval pageantry is to give away a free portrait pack to everyone that owns Crusader Kings II. This South Indian portrait pack will add more color and personality for those who fight for control of the great subcontinent. The pack is available here.

And then tomorrow the celebrations continue with a celebratory video from LongGameShort.  His humorous animated videos are firm favorites of the Dev team and the community, so it seemed only right to involve him in our celebrations!

LongGameShort will help in the celebrations with a video release on the 15th of February

Paradox is very grateful for everyone that has embraced Crusader Kings and hopes that you will join us  through the year as we pay homage to the lord and master of role-playing grand strategy games.

Those who have not delved into the plotting and intrigue of Crusader Kings II can even pick it up with up to a 75% discount at the Paradox store here!

Paradox Interactive is a leading global publisher of strategy games for PC.  The world-renowned strategy catalog stretches back to 1999, and the company holds a particularly strong presence in the United States and Europe.

The publisher’s steadily-growing portfolio includes firmly established PC franchises such as the critically acclaimed Europa Universalis, Cities: Skylines, Crusader Kings, Magicka and the Hearts of Iron series created by Paradox Development Studio and a network of partner studios.

Meditative Puzzle Game Semispheres Available Now on Sony Playstation 4 and Steam for PC

Independent developer Vivid Helix today announced that its contemplative parallel platformer Semispheres is now available for Sony PlayStation 4 and for PC on Steam. Semispheres is a beautiful, 2D puzzle game with a gorgeous, synth-led soundtrack by Sid Barnhoorn, composer of Antichamber and The Stanley Parable, that places dual realities at the heart of its challenge. Featuring a bichromatic art style comprised of warm blues and oranges, it’s a game that seeks to reunite two parallel worlds.

Semispheres is a single-player puzzle game where you simultaneously control two characters in connected realities, “ said Radu Muresan, designer of Semispheres. “With a minimalist aesthetic mixed with Sid Barnhoorn’s soundtrack, players solve puzzles by distracting, switching sides, using portals and teleporters, all while challenging brain-hand coordination.”

In Semispheres, each analogue stick controls a different avatar in environments that might initially appear identical but reveal profound differences crucial to progression. Portals allow the avatars to enter each other’s reality, creating fiendishly complex inter-dimensional puzzles, with success reliant on methodical planning and skilful execution. It’s not all esoteric brain workouts, though. Tension is introduced through the sentries that guard these worlds, whose fields of vision you must evade in order to find safe passage and the eventual resynchronisation of the worlds.

With fiendish puzzles that escalate in complexity, Semispheres presents a real challenge for both puzzle aficionados and newcomers to the genre alike. Yet the game’s beautiful audio and visual presentation ensure things never get too much, as soothing an experience as it is challenging. Controller support on both platforms includes the option to play with keyboard. Available now on PlayStation 4 and Steam for PC for $9.99, €9.99, £6.99, additional platform releases will continue in 2017.

Our world-renowned bridge-building simulation captivates its players in no time. Besides the main 40 levels varying from easy to very hard, the game also includes the SlopeMania add-on featuring another 24 tricky levels that will have you using sloping lanes to overcome massive height differences.
