Risk of Rain 2

Announced at today’s Nintendo Indie World Gamescom Showcase, Risk of Rain 2 is being brought to Nintendo Switch this summer by Hopoo Games and Gearbox Software!

Eastward

Chucklefish Studios announced the pixel-graphic RPG, Eastward, for the Switch next year. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, a man finds a strange girl in an underground laboratory and, together, they explore the weird and wacky society that lays around them in an effort to discover who – or what – she really is.

Freedom Finger

Freedom Finger brings a campy-parody-like aesthetic to side-scrolling shooting ala Galaga in this unique and humorous title – Featuring the voice talents of Nolan North, Eric Bauza, and Sam Riegel, Freedom Finger – developed by Wide Right Interactive – looks to bring its enemy-flinging, space-shooting gameplay to Nintendo Switch this Fall.

Röki

Röki is a story driven RPG, about a young girl who explores the wilderness and encounters a force darker than she could have ever imagined. Created by United Label and Polygon Treehouse, the title is being ported to the Switch this Winter.

Torchlight 2

The legendary action RPG dungeon crawler makes its way to Nintendo Switch! Team up with your friends to delve into deep, dangerous dungeons on the go when Torchlight 2, brought to us by Perfect World, Runic Games and Panic Button, arrives on Switch on September 3rd. Also pre-order to receive an exclusive Pet Yapper minion and your very own Switch-version exclusive Pet Unicorn!

Skater XL

In a similar vein to Skate and Session, Skater XL places players behind the board in a selection of digital skateparks! Easy Day Studios have announced that Skater XL will be available on Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Youropa

Frecle’s Youropa is a puzzle-platform adventure that takes place in a strange, altered version of Europe. As a mysterious doll-like figure, you must traverse warped environments to recreate the continent, and solve challenges as you go. The title is expected to be released this winter.

SUPERHOT

SUPERHOT Team’s legendary first-person-shooter, SUPERHOT, is headed to Nintendo Switch! Put on your darkest trench coat, don your akimbo pistols and rock that digital datascape like Neo straight out the Matrix in this stylistic and addicting shooter – Available right now on the eShop!

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

A remaster of the original Dungeon Defenders – an inventive, indie tower defense from the PC – has been announced as a timed console exclusive by Chromatic Games for a February 2020 release. The title puts you in the shoes of one of several children, the offspring of heroes, who have taken it upon themselves to defend their homeland whilst their parents are away.

The Touryst

Shin’en brings a whole new perspective on holiday-going in their unique title The Touryst! Solve puzzles, explore the local beaches, fight off threatening stone golems and see the sights when The Touryst releases in November 2019!

Skellboy

Skellboy is a body-part swapping, dungeon-exploring arcade title with a truly rocking theme song! As the titular Skellboy, you must explore levels and defeat enemies in order to reconquer the kingdom you once owned. A collaboration between Fabraz and Umaiki Games, the title is due out December 3rd.

Earth Night

The apocalypse rains down upon humanity as you, a sole individual, are tasked with preventing it’s cause… The problem? Well… The apocalypse isn’t heralded by a swarm of locusts or raining frogs… Just an endless spawn of dragons – Delve into your draconic side as Earth Night – brought to us by Cleaversoft – releases this year.

Hotline Miami Collection

The Hotline Miami Collection is finally going portable. The collection, including Hotline Miami 1 and 2, is the first time the fast-paced, violent arcade franchise has appeared on a Nintendo system: You can pick up Devolver’s 80’s inspired carnival of chaos right now, on the Nintendo eShop.

Blasphemous

Taking inspiration from titles such as Dark Souls and Dead Cells, Blasphemous puts players into a gritty, gothic environment filled to the brim with horrible horrors – Explore the world in this metroidvania-like title as Team17 Digital Ltd and The Game Kitchen releases Blasphemous on September 26th.

Close to the Sun

Developed by Storm in a Teacup, Close to the Sun is a first person horror adventure with a plethora of puzzles. Set in the early 20th century, Rose Archer finds herself trapped in a warped reality crafted from Edison and Tesla’s competing energy experiments. Can she uncover the truth, and escape alive? Find out later this year.

Cat Quest II

A sequel to the purr-sitively received action RPG, Cat Quest II places you in a vast open world similar to titles like Final Fantasy, with a huge variety of quests and tasks to undertake. Why not check out the first whilst you wait for PQube Limited & The Gentlebros’ new swansong to release when it arrives this Fall?

Spiritfarer

Thunderlotus’ Spiritfarer finds its way to the Nintendo Switch next year. As Stella, a ferrymaster of the departed, it is up to you to guide your passengers safely from this world to the next. Meet and befriend your passengers, and learn who they once were; a rich storytelling experience, with a focus on cherishing fleeting moments.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Trine has seen many releases across the last two generations of consoles… With today’s announcements, Trine’s latest entry is headed towards the Nintendo Switch! Witness Modus Games’ and Frozenbyte’s epic continuation of the Trine franchise when Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince releases on October 8th!

Creature in the Wall

A top-down, pinball-like title? This dungeon crawler tackles things a bit differently than you might expect. As a local hero, it is your job to delve deep into the town well, and vanquish the monsters that have taken up residence. This creative title bumps onto the Switch September 6th, 2019.

One Finger Death Punch 2

The sequel to one of our earliest-reviewed games, One Finger Death Punch 2 – coming from Silver Dollar Games – has but a simple premise… One finger to play. One punch to kill (Usually…); the first game was addicting enough… Now there’s a sequel..?! Lose your life to One Finger Death Punch 2 when it launches on 2nd December.

Best Friend Forever

Alliance’s Best Friend Forever is, arguably, the ultimate experience: Not only is it a dog care simulator, but it’s a dating sim, too! Step off the bus and into Rainbow Bay with your new four-legged friend, and unwind as you care and look after them to the best of your abilities. As you go out and about, you may bump into a number of the area’s singles, and hit things off. A slice-of-life adventure awaits you February 14th, 2020.

PHOGS!

Having seen this game passively at EGX 2017, it’s a pleasant surprise to see that PHOGS! Is launching on Nintendo Switch in early 2020 – Developed by Coatsink and published by Bit Loom Games, PHOGS! fuses players into a joined dog-like creature that’s only comprised of two heads and a body… The rest is up to you to figure out! PHOGS! will launch on Nintendo Switch in early 2020.

WHAT THE GOLF?

‘The Game for People who don’t like Golf’. In What The Golf?, you don’t just put any stupid old balls into silly ol’ holes – instead, take your putter to houses, cars, yourself and more as you take advantage of the game’s crazy physics to land all sorts of bizarre and inspired shots. Get a Birdie? Good – put ‘er in! This title is set to tee off later this Winter.

KINE

Described as a challenging 3D puzzle game about music, machines, and dreams, KINE launches players into controlling three whimsical musical machines as they follow their dreams to become real musicians – Guide Euler, Quat, and Roo in Chump Squad’s latest release when it releases on Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Northgard

Based on Nordic mythology, Northgard brings Switch owners a deep and rewarding strategy game experience ala Civillization, controlling a variety of warring Viking factions as they battle for control of an unmapped new territory… Enjoy the game solo or with friends as Shiro Games’ Northgard launches on Nintendo Switch on the 26th September 2019!

Set in a procedurally generated world, it’s up to you to save the spirit of the world! Known as Sparklite, this spirit provides wisdom, life, and power. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

In an exciting surprise collaboration between Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios and subsidiary Moon Games, Ori and the Blind Forest is quite possibly one of the best metroidvania-like titles to release in modern memory; similar in tone, quality and gameplay to the titular indie title Hollow Knight, this ex-Xbox exclusive has broken free from it’s green-coloured bondage and flown to the Nintendo Switch! Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition will release on Nintendo Switch on September 27th!
