From EVO’s final day event, featuring characters from Persona 4 Arena, RWBY, UNIEL and BlazBlue itself – this is certainly a tag team fighting game that no one would have imagined!
You can watch the official teaser trailer below.
The game is set to release in 2018 – with more information to follow regarding the exact platforms that it’s going to support. This announcement certainly caught us off-guard and we’re all very excited to know more.
From the the trailer, it looks like BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will feature a 2 vs. 2 tag system allowing players to choose two characters from each franchise. Outside of that, there aren’t many other details about the precise mechanics of the game, considering that each game featured in this has unique systems of its own. We’re dying to know how ArcSystemWorks will handle this mashup!
It’s been a very eventful few days for the FGC, as this news comes on the heels of the addition of Trunks for Dragonball FighterZ, as well as Arika’s new Fighting Layer EX and Tekken 7‘s addition of Geese Howard. Could this spell trouble for Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite? Fans had already made their lukewarm reception of MvC:I clear, because of the way the development has been handled and communicated – as well as the lack of content and controversial character design choices.
Regardless, more competition can only be good for gamers worldwide – and boy, is it a great time to be a fan of fighting games!
