After being teased in Dawn of Justice and making his motion-picture debut in Justice League, it was only a matter of time until DC’s King of Atlantis got his own solo film. On December 14th, 2018, the water-dwelling monarch is splashing into theaters. Actor-hunk Jason Momoa will be reprising his role as the titular king alongside the character’s daughter, Mera (Amber Heard), who joined Aquaman in his Justice League debut.
Newcomers to the franchise include Oscar nominee William Dafoe as Vulko (Atlantis’s chief scientist), Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry (Aquaman’s father), Dolph Lundgren as the enigmatic Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta (Aquaman’s principle antagonist), Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius (Aquaman’s brother), and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna (Aquaman’s mother).
The film is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring franchise, Furious 7) and releases in the UK on December 14th, 2018.
