Admiral Games, in partnership with independent publishing platform indie.io , is proud to announce that Immortal Hunters will enter Early Access on Steam on September 10, 2024. Immortal Hunters is an action RPG beat ’em up set in an universe where the Church killed God and conquered the world, only to come face-first with the Khemrid apocalypse. As one of the titular Immortal Hunters, players get the chance to fight back and stop Armageddon.

The Hunters are the holy warriors of the Church, immortal fighters capable of going toe-to-toe with the Khemrids, servants of the snake god. Players will take control of one of four surviving Hunters, trapped in the burning capital city of Inholm, each with their own play style and unique abilities: Ori, a scarred bruiser with a Warhammer, blessed with ice magic to summon frozen walls and restore his health while absorbing enemy blows; Rhona, an aristocrat turned ranger with a hand crossbow, multiple types of bolts, and mastery of fire magic allowing her to headshot enemies and set them alight; Jakub, a cunning drunkard and circus escapee, whose double knives deal enormous damage as enemies are blindsided by his illusion magic; and finally Lyria, apprenticed to one of the Church’s leaders, capable of healing and summoning lethal lightning to electrocute her enemies.

Immortal Hunters will enter Early Access with all the core features implemented and core content available for players to enjoy. One unique element the developers will be looking to implement is for players to experience the game in co-op. The expected six to twelve-month EA cycle will be devoted by Admiral Games to polishing and optimizing the game, as well as implementing additional RPG features and expanding content to round out the experience and fully realize its action RPG elements. Player involvement and feedback are essential to fully realize Immortal Hunters’ potential.

Admiral Games plans to increase the complexity of the game and the appeal of its core mechanics throughout Early Access by implementing classic action RPG elements. In the words of Roman Artamonov, lead artist and studio head of Admiral Games We chose Early Access as a way to engage with our community and refine our game based on player feedback. By releasing in a polished state, we aim to provide a strong foundation while continually improving and adding depth.

During Early Access, players will see the addition of character leveling and a distinctive loot and equipment system, which will enrich gameplay and make each replay more dynamic and engaging.

Both will make subsequent replays less predictable and more involved. In fact, such replays will be necessary not just to experience the rich combat system, but also the full story: Each of the Hunters has a unique background and storyline tied to it. Their story arcs explore the End Times from a variety of views, bringing them in contact with people pushed to extremes and beyond: Common folk forced to become heroes; heretics fighting their own war against corruption; faithless Cardinals indulging their lust for power, all the while your Hunters fight against the Khemrid hordes to discover a way to change the course of history and pull humanity away from the brink of extermination. Mark Rhainer, the game’s writer, noted on the game entering Early Access that “for Early Accesswe were focused on the personal character storylines. Throughout the game’s Early Access period, we plan to make additional quests and new locations to bring Inholm’s story to the scale it deserves.
