Playstation just dropped their latest State of Play video focused entirely on The Last Of Us Part 2, coming June 19th. In the video, Vice President of Naughty Dog – Neil Druckmann, took us through what to expect when we finally get our hands on The Last of Us Part 2.
The game picks up with Ellie, now 19 years old and living in peace. After a devastating event of some kind, Ellie’s life is flipped upside down and she sets back out to the wild.
The most noticeable part of this presentation was how incredible the new environments look and how Ellie how traverses them, some may say it even takes from Naughty Dog’s other giant franchise – Uncharted.
The presentation then goes on to tell us about the new factions that have formed and will act as some of the early threats in the game along with the return of clickers, runners and the new shamblers. They also teased a surprise on the zombie front which sounded awfully like an animal of some kind to me..
The use of the now overgrown grass for stealth is an addition we already knew about but we get to see more of it here. Ellie’s speed looks to be her biggest advantage against mostly larger men too.
