Its Friday! You have a beer or 10 in hand and you are ready to celebrate that one of the 52 weeks of the year has finally come to an end (Little broscience joke for you there) and what better way to celebrate this than to have a few bevvies and play a few games?

Well never fear dear reader! I am here to help you discover all of the best games to play whilst drunk… Is this another list? Yes. Have I ran out of ideas/time because I was drinking all weekend myself? Also yes. Sue me.

5. Fall Guys

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Game Review

Oh Fall Guys… I am so bad at you and much like the legacy of Tim the Tatman – I have been absolutely unable to get a win on you. Is it because I played you mostly when I’ve had a few drinks and I jump online to chat with friends and play a simple game? No. I’m just really bad at you.

I HAVE however jumped on a few times and our very own Lance mentioned that playing this with me whilst I was drunk is one of his favourite gaming times of 2020 simply due to the whimsy I found in every single thing with the game.

4.Mario Kart OR Mario Party

These two would be much higher up this list if I didn’t have to preface the entry with a warning: Do not, under ANY circumstances, play Mario Kart or Mario party whilst drunk with a loved one. These games can bring out the absolute worst in people and whilst we had loads of fun doing this in my household – I will NEVER EVER EVER forgive my wife and the mother of my child for taking a star from me when that little prick Toad was right there with more stars than anyone else.

Joking aside – these games are just brain off fun and will provide you with endless amounts of joy whilst you are having a few bevvies with ya mates

3. Sekiro/Dark Souls/Nioh/Bloodborne

Look… It’s no secret that I love the Soulsborne games and yes, I do manage to sneak them into an article every week but the fact of the matter is, when I am in the mood for a decent RPG – nothing even hits the sides anymore.

There is a lot of fun you can have with Dark Souls and the like when you are drunk, from trying your hardest with reduced senses to making an entire drinking game about it… WHICH WE HAVE DONE AND YOU CAN FIND HERE IN THIS SHAMELESS PLUG

2. UFC

A recent entry into my game library is the UFC series, something I slept on for years but became a surprise hit to me in the past month or so… more on that here in a second shameless plug: https://respawning.co.uk/games/ufc-4-has-been-a-surprise-hit-for-me/

But one of the biggest and most fun surprises I have found with UFC 4 is that the game is an absolute blast to play when you’ve had a few beerskis. Whack that difficulty down to easy and kick your way through as If you are watching the most satisfying UFC matchups of all time.

This also doubles up as a great game to play with your mates when they’re over – everyone picking the 3 fighters we actually know and proceeding to beat the living snot out of each other is somewhat of a huge stress reliever and works incredibly well to iron out any issues you “n the lads” might have with each other without being on the receiving end of a real black eye.

1. Jackbox Party Packs

We once trialled this as a Respawning group and thought it would be really funny to record the footage and see if we could use this as a feature video to introduce some of us to YouTube and the internet as a whole.

Suffice to say absolutely none of this made it to air. Amidst the endless drawings of penises and lady gardens was loads of in-jokes and bullying of each other that, frankly, just made us look mean to each other – despite the fact we were all having fun.

Jackbox is one of the funniest things I have ever played drunk and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has ever shown an interest in video games and/or drinking.

So there you have it, my favourite games to play whilst I am drunk. What do you think? Anything you would add to this list?

If you want videos – you can also see Javier drunkenly review as many Switch games as he can get his hands on and I do recommend it just to watch the lunacy creep up on him:
