That’s right 90’s kids, So many of your nostalgic feelings are coming back with a vengeance as Nintendo Switch Online will reportedly soon be a portal to the recent past with emulators of the Gameboy Colour and Advance!

I’m sure I remember it being prettier than this…

Now the source for this isn’t what you would call reputable, in fact it’s down right shady… The leaks we’re first brought into the light by Twitter user @trashbandatcoot who showed off screenshots from 4Chan of all places.

If you’re too lazy to have flicked through any of that and, to be honest, I can understand that. Then let me break it down for you, these leaks seem to reveal a Nintendo developed GBA emulator codenamed “Sloop” and a Game Boy emulator called “Hiyoko”. Both of these Emulators seem to be the work of in house devs NERD or Nintendo European Research & Development. These are the loveable scamps behind the previous emulators on the Switch and even the Mini Consoles that did the rounds a few years ago, so safe to say they know their stuff when it comes to emulation.

Surely this is enough to say that we could all be playing Gameboy and GBA titles on our Switch in the near future? If you need more evidence then honestly, I think that says more about you than it does Nintendo…
