The Pokémon Company group has revealed the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, a three-part paid DLC plan for the cosy life simulation adventure. Part 1, Bubbly Basin, arrives in August 2026, alongside the free Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0 update.

As per the press release, the Expansion Pass lets players continue their town-building adventure using their existing Pokémon Pokopia save data. So no, Ditto does not need to pack up, move out, and start its little life again from scratch.

Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass adds Bubbly Basin

The first part of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass introduces Bubbly Basin, a new underwater town. Here, players can meet Pokémon living beneath the sea, discover ocean floor-themed furniture, and find new outfits for Ditto.

It sounds like the cosy town-building loop is heading below the waves, which is frankly very on-brand for a game where Ditto is already doing its best at everything.

Part 2 of the Expansion Pass is planned for late 2026 and will include additional new features. Part 3 is planned for 2027 and will introduce another new town. More details will be shared in the future.

Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0 brings Dive for free

Alongside the paid DLC, Pokémon Pokopia will also receive the Version 2.0 free update in August 2026. This update adds Dive, a new move that Ditto can learn.

Using Dive lets players explore underwater environments for the first time. That should make August a pretty splashy month for Pokopia players, paid DLC or not.

Players who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass can also claim a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper. This in-game bonus is redeemable upon purchase.

In addition, players who buy the Expansion Pass by 31st August 2027 will receive a code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. The code will be sent to the email address linked to the player’s Nintendo Account and can be redeemed via Mystery Gifts.

With Bubbly Basin, Dive, new furniture, new outfits, and more DLC planned, Pokémon Pokopia is about to get a lot wetter. Ditto may want to practice holding its breath.
