Where Winds Meet is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, with the free-to-play Wuxia ARPG also joining Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Everstone Studio has brought Where Winds Meet to Xbox at last, which means console players can now leap, slash, parry, and probably get dramatically lost across 10th-century China from the comfort of the sofa.
As per the press release, the hit open-world Wuxia ARPG is officially available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. It has also landed in the Xbox Game Pass library on day one, giving subscribers a fresh excuse to vanish into the Jianghu.
The studio marked the launch during the Xbox Games Showcase by revealing a first look at the game’s next major update, Hidden Mountain.
Not a bad way to announce, “hello Xbox players, please prepare your thumbs.”
Where Winds Meet brings Wuxia action to Xbox Game Pass
Where Winds Meet is a free-to-play open-world ARPG built around martial arts, exploration, and player freedom.
Set in 10th-century China, the game lets players forge their own legend across a seamless Wuxia world. There are distinctive martial arts styles, unique weapons, and plenty of ways to play, including solo adventures, co-op, and PvP.
The game has already reached more than 80 million players worldwide since its initial debut. Now, with Xbox and Game Pass added to the mix, that number may be getting ready to do some very energetic sword-dancing.
For anyone who has been waiting to play on console, the wait is over. Where Winds Meet is live today on Xbox platforms.
Hidden Mountain expands the world with vertical exploration
Following the Hexi and Imperial Palace expansions, Hidden Mountain will be the game’s third major expansion.
This new region introduces a huge 3D vertical landscape, built around layered exploration and traversal. Players can expect hidden surprises, deep secrets, and challenges spread across different elevations.
So yes, the mountain is not just there to look pretty. It wants you to climb it, poke around, uncover mysteries, and probably regret underestimating gravity.
The expansion also introduces the mysterious Mohist Sect, a secretive faction perched high among the peaks. According to the press release, this legendary group will bring new mysteries, advanced martial arts mechanics, fresh gameplay loops, and major narrative twists to the ongoing Wuxia story.
In other words, the mountain has lore. Dangerous lore.
New Hand Guard Discipline joins the fight
Hidden Mountain will also add the Hand Guard Discipline, a fast-paced martial art focused on close-quarters combat.
This style blends rapid pursuit with counter-attacks, letting players punish enemy mistakes before channelling inner will into one devastating blow. Subtle? Absolutely not. Effective? That seems to be the idea.
For players who like their combat quick, aggressive, and one bad dodge away from disaster, this sounds like a strong fit.
Xbox features, Game Pass perks, and a custom controller
Everstone Studio has also detailed several Xbox-specific features for the launch.
Where Winds Meet supports Smart Delivery and includes an overhauled UI with enlarged text scaling for couch-friendly readability. The Xbox version also features full HDR, AMD FSR 2, and memory optimisations designed to keep performance stable during high-speed exploration and intense sword clashes.
On Xbox Series X, the game supports 4K upscaling. On Xbox Series S, it supports 2K upscaling.
The studio has also revealed an exclusive custom-designed Xbox Wireless Controller, styled around one of the game’s most iconic images and the elegant but deadly feel of its Wuxia world.
Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can claim a day-one starter pack. Phase 1 runs from June 7 to July 23 PT and includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies, Pillow Pills, and other progression items.
So yes, the winds are calling. Conveniently, they also appear to have brought loot.
