Once again, we’re reading those magical words, just as we did back in 2015 before the announcement of ‘Fallout 4’. Now, Bethesda is teasing us once again- with a new version of that classic banner, outfitted in a purple and green colour scheme.

This follows two supposed leaks from earlier this year- one supposedly showing Bethesda’s own E3 lineup, including a new title “Fallout: Nuevo El Paso”

This most obviously draws comparisons to the Fallout 4.5 that many fans have been predicting, in the vein of a sequel to 2011’s Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

However, even if this is the case, it seems Obsidian aren’t involved- they tweeted soon after the reveal, using the hashtag

Whether this completely dismisses the theory, or simple means Bethesda developed the game themselves or hired another studio, is up to you. Personally, our favourite to develop the theoretical title is Larian Studios, makers of Divinity: Original Sin and it’s 2017 sequel.

Another theory draws from an unconfirmed leak of Nintendo’s E3 lineup, which includes a Switch title “Fallout 3: Anniversary Edition”. Some fans speculate this title could be a remake of Fallout 3 made in Fallout 4’s version of the creation engine- an engine which has already been ported to the switch for its version of ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ Last year.

Whatever it is, we’re keeping our eyes glued to Bethesda’s Twitch Channel, which seems to be gearing up for a live reveal.

Update: Obsidian appear to have tweeted, and then quickly deleted, a tweet concerning ‘Fallout: Nuevo El Paso’

the supposed tweet reads “Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl… #E32018”

These are lyrics to the song ‘El Paso’ by Marty Robins, whose song ‘Big Iron’ from the same album was featured in the ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ soundtrack.

Whether this was intentional, a mistakenly early post, or the work of a rogue marketing intern remains to be seen.

Update 2:

OH GOOD LORD I’VE BEEN WATCHING THIS LIVESTREAM FOR 7 HOURS AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SOMEBODY KILL ME
