After announcing their intention to enhance the multiplayer of Super Mario Maker 2 a few months ago, Nintendo has finally released the update that makes it happen.

Update 1.1.0 adds the ability to play co-op or competitively with people on your friend list, allowing you to select either online or Coursebot levels for play.

The update additionally made it easier to find levels from Nintendo themselves, via the creation of new leaderboards, and enabled touch-screen controls when the Switch is in handheld mode.
