Earlier today, a YouTuber by the name of RastaPasta uploaded footage of what appears to be an announcement trailer for an in-development, but undisclosed. Harry Potter title.
“Set in the 19th Century Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” The video description reads. “You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.” The video description goes on to outline that the player will combat a trouble brewing within castle walls that could threaten the future of the Wizarding World.
Players, the description claims, may brew potions, master spells, and become one of eight types of wizards. Players may choose their house, make friends and enemies with students, and decide whether to pursue a path of good or evil.
The trailer itself, blurry and seemingly recorded by third party device off a PC, showed off a beautifully realised Hogwarts, character customisation, environments, and fluid combat.
There has been no word from Warner Bros. nor the Rowling estate regarding the apparent leak, and the possibility exists that the video could just be an elaborate fraud. Whatever the case, we look forward to learning more about the situation, and hopefully details on the game itself should the video be legitimate. The video in question may be found below.
