RuneScape’s Havenhythe expansion has just got a lot bigger. Jagex has released Havenhythe Part II, adding four new areas, fresh skilling activities and a climactic battle against the Sanguine.
The members-only update continues RuneScape’s largest-ever area expansion, which arrived during the MMORPG’s 25th anniversary year.
Alongside the main Havenhythe storyline, players can also tackle a standalone Bangolin quest and pick up new rewards, including an ultra-rare best-in-slot hatchet.
Havenhythe Part II skill requirements and rewards
Anyone looking to see the Havenhythe story through to its conclusion will first need to complete the Secrets of Amberfell quest.
There are also several skill requirements. Members will need:
- 51 Crafting
- 55 Herblore
- 65 Mining
- 60 Smithing
The new mining activity specifically requires 65 Mining and 51 Crafting.
Rewards include the new best-in-slot hatchet, Bogolin Pearls that can be spent on local upgrades and rewards, and Chima Moss Spools for stackable bowstring resources.
Players can also earn a Bogolin Knife and Torch, while the update introduces new sources of standard rune essence.
Beyond the storyline itself, Jagex says Havenhythe Part II adds activities and training methods designed to keep the region useful once the battle with the Sanguine is over.
Havenhythe’s Sanguine storyline reaches its finale
Bradley Hickey, Lead Game Designer on RuneScape, said the original Havenhythe release introduced players to the region and gave them their first look at the Sanguine threat.
“Today’s update raises the stakes for veteran adventurers, introducing brand new skilling content, new training methods, powerful rewards and dangerous new beasts to slay,” Hickey said.
The update also brings the current chapter of Havenhythe’s storyline to its conclusion.
RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS and Android, with cross-platform progression and play supported across PC and mobile.
