From ramen stalls to repressed trauma—Cointinue Games’ latest RPG asks: what happens when your therapist runs out of magic?
The indie minds behind Midnight Ramen and Deadline Savior are back with a new narrative gut-punch—Midnight Therapy, a psychological adventure RPG now live on Steam for wishlisting.
Set in the same expanding “Prometheus” universe, this one trades heartwarming bowls of soup for cold cityscapes, emotional breakdowns, and a therapist who’s secretly winging it.
Magic, Mind Games, and Paying the Rent
You’ll step into the designer boots of Pyrra Gray—an elite therapist with a sharp tongue, sky-high rates, and one tiny problem: her entire career was powered by illegal emotional magic.
That is, until it all goes kaboom. Now, with her powers sealed and debts looming, Pyrra has to do her job the old-fashioned way: with words, wit, and a lot of bluffing.
Deep Talks and Deeper Trauma
As per the press release, Midnight Therapy blends visual novel vibes with some unexpected twists:
- Mind Cracks and Conversation Combat – Dig into your patients’ speech, spot contradictions, and build up your conversational toolkit from street gossip.
- Dive into the Subconscious – When a patient hits peak Cognitive Dissonance, jump into their manifested trauma in abstract 2.5D levels using logic and slowly-recovering spells.
- Therapy Meets Capitalism – Rent’s due. Your brother’s hospital bills aren’t going away. Balance emotional breakthroughs with survival-level time management.
- Midnight Ramen Returns (Sorta) – Homura, the ramen vendor from the first game, returns with wisdom, warmth, and a bit of spell-swapping mentorship.
Embracing the Shadows
The producer puts it this way: if Midnight Ramen was a gentle goodbye, Midnight Therapy is about facing uncomfortable truths head-on. It’s messy, raw, and very much about the battles we fight behind closed doors.
You can wishlist Midnight Therapy on Steam right now. No release date yet, but the mind-dive begins soon.
