Discounty’s free People or Profit? expansion is now available across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, bringing players back to Blomkest for a new chapter packed with difficult choices, shop upgrades and small-town chaos.

PQube and Crinkle Cut Games released the expansion on 23rd July 2026 for PC via GOG and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The update arrived on Steam last month.

Decide the fate of Discounty and Blomkest

People or Profit? takes place directly after the original ending of Discounty. Aunt Tellar finally hands players control of the supermarket, which means the future of both Discounty and Blomkest now rests on their shoulders.

The new final questline branches depending on the choices players make and the people they support. As a result, the expansion features three new endings.

No pressure, then. It is only the fate of an entire town and its favourite discount supermarket.

Players will also meet three new characters. Gaspard is Tammy’s disgraced brother and dreams of running a hydroponic farm. Angeel is a bougie city girl opening a branch of luxury grocery store Muimerp. Meanwhile, Casey is a “troubled” teen selling entirely “legitimate” goods from the trunk of their car.

Everything sounds perfectly normal in Blomkest.

New shop gadgets, items and town restoration

Alongside the new story chapter, the People or Profit? expansion adds several major gameplay features.

Players can restore parts of Blomkest by completing renovations around town. Projects include helping Solruna reclaim her old shop, reopening the neglected John Key museum and investigating a mysterious shed.

Alternatively, players can cover the town in Discounty billboards. Community spirit comes in many forms.

Jürgen’s old workshop can now be used to build advanced shop gadgets. These include a self-checkout register and an online order fulfilment system, giving players more ways to drag Discounty into the modern age.

The expansion also lets players choose which products they want to stock. With 35 new items joining the selection, there should be plenty of room for questionable merchandising decisions.

Random shop events will force players to adjust their tactics throughout the working day. In addition, players can finally leave Aunt Tellar’s old trailer behind and purchase a larger permanent home.

As per the press release, the free Discounty update also includes smaller features, quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes designed to make returning to Blomkest smoother.

What is Discounty?

Discounty is a supermarket life sim set in the run-down harbour town of Blomkest. Players manage their aunt’s discount shop while dealing with local drama, building relationships and attempting to grow the business.

Running the store means designing its layout, stocking shelves, cleaning floors and serving customers before they lose patience. Players can also negotiate trade deals with local manufacturers, sell speciality goods and reinvest their profits into expanding the supermarket.

Outside working hours, players can explore Blomkest, meet its residents and uncover the secrets hiding beneath the town’s warm-ish welcome.
