Crimson Moon will launch on September 1, 2026, for £17.49 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
ProbablyMonsters has pitched the gothic action RPG as an accessible, focused experience built around brutal combat, replayable missions and optional co-op. It will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The studio has also revealed a suitably noisy soundtrack lineup. Members of HEALTH, Ice Nine Kills, Oni and Periphery are contributing original music for the game’s boss encounters.
Crimson Moon Brings Gothic Action to Gildenarch
Crimson Moon takes place in the besieged city of Gildenarch, where players control the Nephilim. These ruthless human-angel hybrids were created to defend humanity, apparently by hitting hellish creatures extremely hard.
Combat blends precise attacks with character progression, while missions have been designed with replayability in mind.
Players can tackle the game alone or team up with a friend in co-op. As per the press release, the experience scales to support both solo slayers and pairs looking to turn each battle into a shared onslaught.
Those skilled enough to clear three districts of Gildenarch in a row will face a world boss. Players must defeat all three world bosses before challenging the final boss.
Metal Musicians Join Crimson Moon’s Boss Battles
Crimson Moon’s soundtrack will feature four original metal tracks created for its major boss encounters.
Lead composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo collaborated with HEALTH, Jared Dines, Misha Mansoor and Ricky Armellino on the music.
The tracks will accompany the game’s three world bosses and final fight. ProbablyMonsters also plans to share previews of each song on social media before launch.
Ricky Armellino described the project as a mix of gothic imagery, classical elements and heavy metal. Frankly, that sounds like the correct soundtrack for carving through a city full of monsters.

Crimson Moon Deluxe Edition Includes Expansion Access
A Crimson Moon Deluxe Edition will also launch for £25.99 across all platforms.
It includes the Ceremonial Armor Set, the Axe of the Gods weapon cosmetic and access to an upcoming expansion. ProbablyMonsters has not yet confirmed when that expansion will arrive.
Crimson Moon is available to wishlist now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
