CODE VEIN II is getting a new post-game chapter next month, with the Mask of Idris DLC launching on 9 September 2026.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the expansion takes players into the Forsaken World, an alternate setting formed from the passions of worlds erased by changes to history. So, naturally, things are looking fairly cheerful.
At the centre of the Forsaken World sits a huge swirling spindle made from those lingering emotions. It pulls in feelings from across different times and spaces, and now threatens to affect the real world.
Explore the Forsaken World in Mask of Idris
The CODE VEIN II Mask of Idris DLC introduces Liv Voda, a guardian of time and space with what the press release describes as a combative personality.
Players will encounter her as they explore the Forsaken World and uncover the new conflict at the heart of the expansion.
However, this is firmly post-game content. To access Mask of Idris, players need to have reached the Luna Fraterna ending in CODE VEIN II.
They must also complete the Valentin’s request sub-mission before starting the new campaign.
Free CODE VEIN II Version 2.0 update arrives too
Bandai Namco will release Free Update Version 2.0 alongside Mask of Idris on 9 September.
As per the press release, the update will add several improvements and new content. One confirmed addition will let players explore the world after the main game alongside their partners.
More details about Version 2.0 and its additional content will be revealed at a later date.
CODE VEIN II builds its action RPG combat around draining blood from enemies to unlock powerful skills. Players can also use Blood Codes, specialised weapons and equipment known as Jails to deal with tough enemies and bosses.
The sequel also introduced a new Partner System, allowing players to switch between two combat forms during battles.
Character customisation makes a return too, with the Revenant Hunter offering options for body type, hairstyles, facial expressions, accessories, makeup and more. Players can also visit hot springs to check their character under different lighting, while Photo Mode lets them capture their creations.
CODE VEIN II is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
