The forge is heating up for BLADESONG, the upcoming swordmaking sim where you can finally live out your blacksmith fantasies – no sparks in the face required. As per the press release, BLADESONG is now swinging into Steam Next Fest with a playable demo that’s sharper than ever.
Forge Legends, Not Just Blades
Step into the gates of Eren Keep and begin your journey to becoming a legendary swordsmith. BLADESONG offers a mix of freeform blade shaping and a modular building system, letting players craft one-of-a-kind weapons across every style imaginable – from samurai katanas to futuristic plasma blades.
You’ll take commissions from warriors, nobles, and mercenaries in Story Mode, tailoring each creation to your patron’s needs while balancing stats based on real-world physics. Or, if you’d rather ignore everyone’s opinions and make something gloriously impractical, Creative Mode has your back – a full-on sandbox packed with parts, tools, engravings, and materials to let your imagination run wild.
What’s New in the Steam Next Fest Demo
This updated demo isn’t just reheated steel. Players can now dive into two new story levels (around 30–60 minutes of extra content) ahead of the game’s Early Access launch later this year. Creative Mode has also had a tune-up, with a revamped sword part bending system, fresh parts and materials, and an extra editable sword slot for even more room to experiment.
With everything from hilt to pommel fully customisable, no two swords – or swordsmiths – will ever be the same.
Coming Soon to Steam Early Access
BLADESONG is set to hit Steam Early Access in late 2025, but you can download the demo now and add it to your Wishlist to stay sharp for launch.
