Blade & Soul Heroes is here. NC America’s new action-MMORPG launches today on Steam, PURPLE, iOS, and Android. The game is free-to-play and available in 195 countries with full cross-platform play.
This is more than a simple spin-off. Blade & Soul Heroes works as a prequel to the Blade & Soul saga and adds a bold new style. The game combines a vibrant anime look, over 40 collectible characters, and a unique dual combat system that blends strategy with action.
Collect and Fight with Over 40 Heroes
At launch, you can form a team of five heroes. The roster mixes new faces, like central character Yusol, with returning favourites. Poharan, Yura, Namsoyoo, and Mushin all make a comeback.
Combat is where things get interesting. You can switch between real-time action and turn-based battles. Take direct control to dodge, parry, and launch powerful specials. Or let auto-play handle turn-based fights while you plan your next move.
The game spans 16 chapters. It starts with PvE but later opens into PvP, giving plenty of reasons to refine your squad and experiment with strategies.
Improvements for Global Players
Blade & Soul Heroes first launched in Asia as Hoyeon in 2024. For the global version, NC America made major changes to improve pacing and engagement:
- Streamlined early game with faster progression, shorter tutorials, and a cutscene skip option.
- Deeper story thanks to Yusol’s interactive “Chronicles” backstory.
- Better rewards, including a free Exalted hero when creating a clan.
- Combat upgrades, with an extra dash, stronger parries, and no more auto-pathing in main quests.
- Improved systems such as gear sharing across 20 heroes and adjustable boss trial difficulties.
These updates aim to make the game more accessible for new players while still offering depth for veterans.
First Update Arrives Next Week
Support starts straight away. On 30 September, the first major update, Scorching Sands, will expand the game with:
- A new desert region to explore.
- A level cap increase from 30 to 40.
- A new PvE Field Boss, Stalker Jiangshi, pulled from Blade & Soul lore.
- More story content, instanced dungeons, and challenging solo and party fights.
