And I am back with another top 10 list! Wahoo! This time I am taking a look at my favourite movies of 2021! I haven’t been able to watch a huge amount of movies this year as I have a 2 year old daughter who has watched Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse around 639 times.

However, I have enough to compile a list so lets just get into it.

10. The Mitchells Vs The Machines

The Mitchells vs the Machines is one of my favourite Animated movies of the past few years. Initially I just put this one as something colourful to watch with the baby but I ended up loving it 100 times more than she ever did.

The Mitchells Vs The Machines perfectly skirts that line of being definitely for kids but with a whole bunch of adult jokes for the parents.

9. Raya and the last dragon

This one is that classic Disney Princess formula sprinkled with a bit of apocalyptic drama. Another one I stuck on for the baby but definitely enjoyed more. Raya is a phenomenal character and the chemistry with the Dragon (who I wont name for mild spoiler reasons) left a really nice taste in my mouth all the way through.

8. Free Guy

Free Guy is just fun. It’s my favourite video game movie of all time and Ryan Reynolds’ turn as the titular Guy is just as hilarious as you’d expect. You could do a lot worse than spending a couple of hours in his world and it poses an interesting look at how gamers behave in game.

7. No Time to Die

Martini’s are shit. Just saying

This is my favourite of the Daniel Craig Bond movies and whilst I know it rubbed more than a few people up the wrong way (especially with how it ended) I felt it was a perfect gadget filled send off for Daniel Craig that left me completely satisfied with the end of the Story Arc

6. Luca

Just watch it. It’s so wholesome.

5. Shang Chi

Marvels turn at classic Kung Fu movies featuring the titular Shang Chi is a rip roaring good time. Yes the story is pretty standard  marvel fare that doesn’t break the mold but the Crouching Tiger-esque action sequences made for many of my favourite moments in the MCU… ever.

4. Tick Tick…. Boom

Can Lin Manuel Miranda do any wrong? No. Tick Tick… Boom had me slightly worried when I found out that Andrew Garfield was going to be playing the incredible Jonathan Larson (the creator of Rent) but he absolutely steals the show constantly throughout the musical and I haven’t stopped listening to 30/90 since I watched this.

3. The Suicide Squad

James Gunn proves, once more, that he is the king of Comic Book movies and saves the Suicide Squad movie franchise whilst also showing DC how to actually make a comic book movie. Its brutal, sweary and hilarious and I love it.

2. Palm Springs

One of my top 10 films of all time. Palm Springs takes the groundhog day formula and adapts it for the modern day with this romantic comedy from the lonely Island gang. Palm Springs is feel good all the way through and I absolutely adore this.

Also yes, I am aware it came out in 2020 but the UK release date, Where I am, was 2021 so suck it.

1. Spider-Man: No Way Home

As per all my previous movie lists when a Spidey movie is released. I haven’t even seen this but as I am a Spider-Man obsessed fanboy I am going to put this in the number 1 slot anway. Its my list go away now.

So there we go, do you think ill actually hate Spider-Man and have to write an apology? Did I miss anything off this list that you loved in 2021? Probably but let me know as I need movies to watch!
