In case you’ve missed it I’ve started my PS4 Playlist. Essentially I have a load of good games I’ve started but haven’t finished on my PS4, games I need to finish them all before i can justify buying the PS5. With this in mind I am going to pre review each title here (briefly) before playing, and then I’ll come back and review after finishing. It’s worth mentioning that there’s no particular order and I may not necessarily play a game from start to finish, we all know we need breaks from soulsbourne games. Firstly here’s my streaming announcement:

I’ll try and run through these in some sort of order…..Let’s start with:

The Surge 1 & 2

As I’ve started this one in my series it’s worth putting this first on the list. I actually played this at Luke’s before any Souls games, but sucked at it! I mostly picked it up properly because I reviewed The Surge 2 and wanted to play the first one beforehand. They are very different games, I gave The Surge 2 8.5 because I loved the bright world and the fast gameplay. The first game is a very different beast and I’ll give this a 7.5 for now.

Detroit Become Human

I’m a really big fan of David Cage games, Heavy Rain is one of my all time favourite games and I thought Beyond Two Souls was exceptional; so why did I drop Detroit? Well I don’t know for sure, I think that it may be because I just need a little more from my games nowadays as even the newer Telltale games have passed me by. I want to love this game and will give it another shot but for now it’s low on the list and gets a 7.

Man of Medan

Much like David Cage games this is essentially a movie you play through, but it’s scary. Again I loved Until dawn, LOVED IT, and to be honest I think not playing this any more is just due to me and Mike not sorting ourselves out/not playing anything but Fifa. This gets a 7.5.

Resident Evil 2 & 3 Remakes

Keeping the horror theme going is probably the most reliable horror series going. Now I’ll be honest I’m not the biggest fan of horror games, I like them every now and again for sure but they are never my go to. Anyways I was essentially forced to play 2 as Mike got it for my 30th and I bloody loved it, however I only did Chris’ play through and understand there’s a fair amount more. Instead of getting on with Claire’s series of events I had a crack at 3, I really like the change in 3 and how it’s a lore more action base. These games get an 8 from me.

Devil May Cry 5

I’ve really not played a lot of this game despite being a big fan of the series, I found the new combat system a little tricky and I didn’t completely gel with it. So I definitely need to give it more time and get to grips with it, and hopefully love it. It’s very early on for me to score but lets say 7.5!

Dark Souls 3

It’s no surprise from the amount I bang on about my new(ish) found love for Dark Souls that I bloody love this game. I am at that classic point where I just can’t seem to get past where I am so have taken a massive break from it. I need to storm back into this world and really get my teeth into it again. For now it gets a 10/10 though!!

Persona 5

I really can’t give a score for, I’ve played it for 2 hours! So far I love how different it is and the way the style and time jumping really throws you. For the first time in a while I feel truly surprised by what I’m playing and feel like I’m having a very different experience, especially for a JRPG. I’ve never played any of the persona series but my first impressions are high.

What follows are my official reviews!

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 10/10

Spyro Reignited Trilogy – 8/10

Mafia 2: Definitive Edition – 7/10

Doom Eternal – 10/10

So there we have it, these are the games I definitely want to get through before Christmas; and there are even more than those listed here. Make sure you catch up on my streams on our YT channel!
