Cat Secretary has pushed its release date back to 20 January 2027, giving its feline office worker a little more time to get things in order. The cosy adventure from Good Story Guild was originally due to launch on 4 November 2026.
The developers say the extra time will help them polish the game’s 15–20 hour adventure, add features, squash bugs and act on feedback from players who’ve tried the free demo.
Steam Deck optimisation is also on the to-do list, with the team keen to make these improvements without resorting to crunch. Even cats deserve a reasonable work-life balance.
Cat Secretary Takes on Office Life and AI
In Cat Secretary, you play as a feline employee at DOX, an entertainment conglomerate that’s enthusiastically embraced generative AI and corporate growth at any cost.
Unfortunately, that approach hasn’t done much for the company’s soul.
Beneath its cosy presentation, the game takes a decidedly anti-AI stance, with players tasked with navigating office politics, uncovering questionable corporate schemes and potentially saving DOX from itself.
Of course, there’s still plenty of actual office work to get through. Your daily responsibilities include making coffee, fixing routers, organising café snacks and putting an AI Smart Thermostat firmly in its place.
As you progress, you’ll earn DOXBux to renovate and expand the reception area, unlock upgrades and make the workplace a little more welcoming.
There’s also a larger office to explore. Once night falls, you can sneak past AI security, investigate the upper floors of DOX HQ and complete quests for your colleagues.
Along the way, you’ll develop new skills, build relationships, uncover secrets and work towards promotions. Just don’t expect climbing the corporate ladder to be entirely straightforward when you’re a cat.
Cat Secretary Demo Progress Will Carry Over
Although the full game won’t arrive until January, there’s still a chance to clock in early.
A free Cat Secretary demo is available on Steam, and Good Story Guild has confirmed that save files from the demo will transfer into the full game when it launches.
That means you can get acquainted with DOX and its questionable workplace culture without worrying about starting from scratch later.
