Dual-wielding rogues, toxin cocktails, and a filthy good time await in Darktide’s newest update

Tertium just got a whole lot grimier. The Hive Scum have officially clawed their way out of the underhive and into Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, bringing chaos, knives, and some seriously questionable fashion choices with them.

Available now across all platforms, this brand-new class is a lawless love letter to back-alley brawlers and chemical thrill-seekers. As per the press release, players can now dual-wield pistols and shivs—finally! Close-quarters combat becomes a chaotic blur of steel and burst fire, with every move dripping in grit.

Customisable Chaos with a Side of Chemical Mayhem

These misfit mercs aren’t just dirty fighters—they’re creative about it. Hive Scum players can cook up custom Stimms, lacing themselves with potent chem cocktails before jumping into the fray. Whether you’re slashing with toxin-coated crowbars or lobbing improvised explosives, subtlety is off the menu.

Their flexible talent tree lets you build a jittery glass cannon, a trigger-happy bomber, or a sneaky hybrid killer. And of course, they look the part: tattoos, filthy mullets, full face paint, and a premium stash of cosmetics mean your Hive Scum can style themselves like a proper underhive legend.

The Hive Scum Class DLC is live now for £11.99 / €11.99 / $11.99, and you can dive deeper into their chaotic design in the latest Dev Blog.

Darktide Anniversary Update: New Mission, New Event, and New Ogryn Banter

This update isn’t just about the Hive Scum. Darktide’s three-year bash also brings a fresh mission and live event into the mix:

No Man’s Land sends players deep into the hive’s unknown, trudging through promethium-lit trenches to uncover what the heretics want with the RTX-590 freight train. Spoiler: it’s not hugs.

Meanwhile, the Atonement Live Event asks players to pay penance for past choices. Remember those dodgy rations? Yeah, about that. Hunt down relics and shrines across Tertium to earn forgiveness—and 500 Aquila plus more loot for your trouble.

Ogryn Gets a New Voice & Arbites Go on Sale

Tim Bentinck, the voice behind Vermintide’s Victor Saltzpyre, now lends his pipes to a brand-new Ogryn voice profile. Expect fresh banter and even more class-specific sass in your squad chats.

Also, for the first time ever, the Arbites class is on sale—possibly because they’ve found themselves shoulder-to-shoulder with the very Hive Scum they’d usually be arresting. Times are strange.

New Player Bonus: Cheap Aquila, Big Bang

Whether you’re new to the fray or a long-time reject, you can grab 4,000 Aquila for just $4.99/€4.99. It’s a one-time welcome offer, so don’t sleep on it.…or behind
