Just a reminder: Overwatch is having a Free Weekend right now!

From the 25th to the 28th, Blizzard’s epic hero-shooter, Overwatch, is free to play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This coincides with the title’s two-year anniversary, and its annual anniversary event (which features every skin previously offered in the game for unlock or via lootboxes).

The multiplayer shooter gained status as Blizzard’s latest jewel in its crown not long after its May, 2016 release, becoming a favourite amongst gamers and critics alike. Players can select from any of the 27 heroes on offer, each a unique character all of their own, with a variety of enjoyable abilities that can help turn the tide of battle. Players are tasked to escort payloads to their destination, capture flags, capture and hold territory, or a mix of these depending on which of the 18 maps are being played. And with 40 million players, wait times are reasonably short to find a match.

The title also boasts an ever-deepening lore, that’s expanded upon through comics and CGI shorts.

Any progress made during the free period will transfer over should players decide to purchase the title. The Legendary edition of the game (which contains 5 Legendary skins and 5 Origin skins)  normally retails for around $60 USD, but is currently on sale for $44.99 USD.
