Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is now available worldwide on iOS and Android, giving Ubisoft’s looter-shooter series a proper mobile outing with a brand-new story set in New York City.

As per the press release, the free-to-play third-person RPG shooter sits between the events of The Division and The Division 2, casting players as a newly activated Division agent during the Green Poison outbreak. So yes, things are going badly, society is falling apart, and you have been handed the job of sorting it out. No pressure.

Built by Ubisoft Mobile Games, The Division Resurgence can be played solo or in teams of up to four, with players protecting civilians, fighting hostile factions, and trying to restore some kind of order as New York unravels.

A new Division story built for mobile

Rather than rehashing the older games, The Division Resurgence comes with a standalone campaign designed specifically for handheld play. Ubisoft says the game has been built from the ground up for mobile devices, with mobile-first features and controls aimed at keeping things smooth across all modes.

The RPG side looks fairly chunky too. Players can work through multiple specialisations, each with signature weapons, gadgets, and ultimate abilities. Those include Demolitionist, Bulwark, Field Medic, Tech Operator, and Vanguard. Ubisoft is also promising extensive weapon and gear customisation, plus the option to switch roles whenever needed to better suit your playstyle or your squad setup.

Dark Zone, PvP and endgame modes all make the trip

There is plenty here beyond the main campaign. The Division Resurgence includes a Bootcamp tutorial, main story missions, shared open-world activities, and a mix of solo and co-op content.

That also means the Dark Zone is back, bringing the series’ trademark PvPvE chaos to mobile, alongside Conflict, a dedicated PvP mode focused on map control. Elsewhere, players can secure outposts, rescue hostages, disrupt deals, and take on weekly quests across the city.

For players already thinking about the endgame grind, Ubisoft says the game includes Legendary Challenge, which replays main missions at Ultimate Difficulty, and Lone Wolf Challenge, a training mode where better performance earns better rewards. There are also clan activities, letting players contribute resources and upgrade facilities to unlock useful functions.

On the enemy side, players will be up against four factions: Raiders, Rikers, Cleaners, and the new Freemen, a scavenger-heavy group armed with improvised weapons and a habit of hoarding anything that looks remotely useful.

Ubisoft says more content updates are planned after launch, so this is clearly meant to be the start of the road rather than the full journey. Still, for Division fans wanting to take the fight to New York on mobile, the wait is over.
