Jagex isn’t slowing down. Fresh off the back of RuneScape: Dragonwilds crossing 1 million sales in Steam Early Access, the team behind Gielinor’s latest frontier is charging full speed into uncharted territory—literally.

As revealed during today’s community summit livestream, three massive new regions are on the horizon for Dragonwilds: Dowdun Reach, Umbral Sands, and the climactic Scorned Wilderness. These updates promise to deepen the survival, crafting, and chaos of Ashenfall as the Kuldra Saga unfolds through 2026 and into 2027.

Dowdun Reach – Madness of Zamorak (March 2026)

First up is Dowdun Reach, a fog-shrouded mountain zone lost to time—and to Zamorak, God of Chaos. At its centre lies a haunted fortress now crawling with twisted Black Knights. Players will battle through brutal corridors, conquer battlements, and dig into the fortress’s dark secrets in search of mithril-tier gear. But brace yourself: the deeper you go, the more likely you’ll meet a Blue Dragon face-to-face.

This update also marks the debut of the Fishing skill, alongside a bump in the level cap to 99 across all skills—paving the way for richer progression and future retroactive content.

Umbral Sands – Fire of Fuzan (Summer 2026)

Next, the heat rises—literally. Umbral Sands is a scorching desert where daylight is deadly and nighttime is no picnic either. Players must adapt to shifting environmental hazards, using shadows and time-of-day mechanics to survive both the blistering sun and the elemental wrath of the Kot’Haar.

At the heart of this fiery wasteland is Fuzan, the Red Dragon General. Expect to craft Adamant gear, wield classic RuneScape items like Red Dragonhide and Yew Bows, and encounter Icthlarin, demigod of the underworld.

Scorned Wilderness – Rage of Kuldra (September 2027)

Capping off the saga is the Scorned Wilderness, a wild and unforgiving land where players will finally confront Kuldra, the God Eater. Details are still under wraps, but it’s set to be a grand finale to the Kuldra Saga’s world-shaping storyline.

More to Come

Beyond these major milestones, Dragonwilds will keep up its monthly rhythm of smaller updates—new quests, events, QoL fixes, and other surprises to keep Ashenfall feeling alive and ever-dangerous.
