New tiers, weapon balance changes, and tactical upgrades shake up the battlegrounds

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS just dropped its Update 36.1 on PC, with console players getting in on the action June 19. This one’s a big deal — whether you’re a Ranked grindlord or just in it for the skins, there’s something here for you.

Ranked Gets a Major Revamp

Two new Ranked tiers have been added: Crystal and Survivor, with Survivor now standing as the top rank. Even better, Duo mode is now available in all regions, and Rank Points (RP) are now shared across all party types and camera perspectives. Plus, gameplay mechanics like Recall, Red Zones, and Ziplines — once locked to Normal Matches — are now part of Ranked. It’s faster, more flexible, and way more tactical.

Black Market Opens Early

The 2025 Black Market has gone live earlier than expected, offering a rotating selection of weapon skins (including Chromas), Contraband Crates, Workshop Passes, and more. Weekly updates keep the content fresh, and you can now purchase select items with either G-Coin or BP.

Weapon and Gameplay Tweaks

Weapon balance gets a shake-up too. The AUG and VSS have been re-tuned, and several guns like the Mini14, SCAR-L, and Vector now spawn across all maps. Others, like the G36C and PP-19 Bizon, are now exclusive to certain battlegrounds.

On top of that, vehicle controls have been standardized, reverse speeds toned down, and the UI has seen some polish. There are even more free rewards and accessibility updates to sweeten the deal.

Update 36.1 is live now on PC and lands on consoles June 19.
