That chainsaw is revving again, and this time, it’s slicing its way into both games and anime. Lollipop Chainsaw is making a full-blown return with two massive projects: a brand-new entry in the series and its very first anime adaptation, all thanks to a new team-up between NADA HOLDINGS and Dragami Games.
Juliet’s Not Done Yet
First released back in 2012, Lollipop Chainsaw was a blood-soaked cult classic — equal parts over-the-top gore, dark comedy, and cheerleader chaos. After a remastered version (RePOP) landed in 2024 to surprisingly strong fanfare, the franchise now boasts over 1.5 million copies sold, and fans have been dying for more.
Ask and you shall receive.
The new game is being developed with a clear focus: preserve the original’s absurd, irreverent charm while levelling up the gameplay. Key developers from the original team are back in action, and the studios are promising it’ll keep that signature blend of B-movie gore and darkly comic tone. They’ve also made it clear — they’re not watering it down.
According to the announcement, development won’t be shackled by “excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI,” signalling a return to the no-filter, go-for-broke energy that made the original so infamous (and beloved) in the first place.
An Anime? Yep. She’s Coming for Your Screen
Alongside the new game, the first-ever anime adaptation of Lollipop Chainsaw is in the works. No word yet on studio, style, or streaming platform, but it looks like Juliet’s heading from console to screen — and given the material, you can expect something gloriously unhinged.
Stay Tuned, Chainsaw Fans
There’s no release date yet, but updates will be rolling out via the official X account (live now), where the devs will be sharing progress, peeks, and plenty of hype.
Whether you’re here for the nostalgic chaos or just want to see Juliet decapitate zombies in 4K, it’s official: Lollipop Chainsaw is back.
