Everwind is available today in Steam Early Access, with Bohemia Interactive and Enjoy Studio officially opening the skies to players ready for a bit of sandbox survival, RPG progression, and airborne chaos.

As per the press release, the game goes live at 5pm GMT / 6pm CET today, giving players the chance to jump into a procedurally generated world of floating islands, ancient dungeons, and one very important mobile base: your own flying island-ship.

Published under the Bohemia Incubator label, Everwind has already built up serious momentum ahead of launch, pulling in nearly one million Steam wishlists and landing among the platform’s most anticipated upcoming releases. Not bad for a game about drifting through the clouds and hoarding resources.

What Everwind brings to Early Access

At its core, Everwind mixes a few familiar ideas into one skybound survival sandbox. You take command of a flying island-ship, explore islands above the clouds, gather materials, craft gear, and slowly build yourself into a proper airborne menace.

You can tackle the adventure solo or team up in co-op with up to four players. Meanwhile, dedicated servers for larger groups are planned during Early Access, so the team clearly has bigger adventures in mind.

The game also leans into RPG progression, with character development tied to equipment, magical abilities, crafting, and alchemy. Throw in dangerous dungeons, loot-filled ruins, and a fully destructible voxel world, and there is plenty here for players who like their exploration with a side of building and survival.

Flying ships, dungeons, and a voxel sandbox

The big hook is the flying island-ship, which acts as both transport and home base. You can build it up, upgrade it, and carry your little patch of civilisation through the skies as you hunt for new places to explore.

According to the press release, players can expect:

  • Flying island-ship gameplay with a mobile base in the skies
  • Co-op multiplayer alongside solo play
  • RPG progression through gear, magic, crafting, and alchemy
  • Dungeon exploration packed with enemies, loot, and hidden treasure
  • A voxel sandbox world that is fully destructible and built for creativity

So, yes, it is part survival game, part co-op adventure, and part excuse to turn a floating island into your dream airborne fortress.

Everwind launches in Early Access at $24.99 / €24.99, with regional pricing available. There is also a 10% launch discount for a limited time. Players after a few extra bits and pieces can pick up the Capybara Edition for $49.99 / €49.99, which includes exclusive Early Access cosmetics such as the Capybara Armor Set, Pajama Set, Furniture Set, Balloon Skin, and Menu Skin.

This Early Access release is only the beginning, with the team planning new content, additional systems, improved multiplayer features, and more discoveries over time. Community feedback will also help shape where Everwind goes next, which is exactly what you want from a sandbox game still finding its wings.
