DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow has officially kicked off pre-registration today, March 17, 2026, giving mobile players their first proper chance to lock in the newest spin on Square Enix’s long-running RPG series.
As per the press release, DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is a roguelite RPG for smartphones and will launch on the App Store and Google Play later this year. Players who pre-register now will receive 10 Premium Transmuter Vouchers at launch, which is enough for 10 Premium Transmuter pulls. Handy, that.
Square Enix has also released a new promotional video to mark the start of pre-registration, showing off the latest version of the game. The trailer is narrated by Toshio Furukawa, who voices Roly, the hero’s mechanical sidekick, which is a pretty solid way to get things started.
A new mobile twist on DRAGON QUEST
From the sound of it, DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is aiming for a more fast-moving, replayable structure than your usual series adventure. Players will smash through waves of monsters, fire off the series’ trademark Coup de Grâce attacks, and shape each run with random Blessings that change how battles play out.
That roguelite setup means no two quests are meant to feel the same, with character growth and tactical choices shifting from run to run. In other words, it is DRAGON QUEST, but with a bit more improvising and a lot more monster-punching.
Giveaways, social campaigns, and a new Discord server
Square Enix is also tying the pre-registration launch to a giveaway campaign across the game’s official social channels. According to the press release, the event starts on March 18, 2026 at 3:00am UTC and runs until March 24 at 11:59pm UTC.
Players can enter by following the official X account (@DQSG_EN) and reposting the giveaway post, or by following the official Facebook page and commenting on its giveaway post. The prizes include three Crystal Monsters Gallery Slime and two Large King Smile Slime Plush.
On top of that, the official DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow Discord server is now live and will host its own campaigns and events for players who want to keep tabs on the game ahead of release.
DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is set to arrive on the App Store and Google Play later this year. For now, pre-registration is live, the promo push is underway, and Square Enix is clearly hoping this mobile roguelite can carve out its own place in the DRAGON QUEST line-up.
