Development studio ByOwls proudly presents Whispers of the Void, an immersive, story-driven sci-fi adventure designed from the ground up for VR.
Whispers of the Void invites players on a journey across the galaxy, blending space travel, puzzles in hostile environments, hand-to-hand combat, and an epic narrative. The story of the game puts the player in the middle of a conspiracy that spans hundreds of years and has already caused at least one planet implosion. Plus, there’s also a holographic frog alien in the mix.
To mark the announcement, ByOwls is releasing a debut gameplay trailer for Whispers of the Void, offering a first look at the game’s vibrant and painterly aesthetic, fluid combat mechanics, and cinematic set pieces that await players in the full game.

In Whispers of the Void, you don the spacesuit of a relic hunter — a rare breed brave enough to venture into the farthest reaches of the universe. What starts like a routine retrieval mission on the desert planet Arena quickly spirals into a galaxy-spanning conspiracy. Commissioned by an old friend to recover a mysterious relic, you become a part of a hidden conflict over Edem, a substance with the potential to reshape the balance of power in the galaxy.
As the story unfolds, Whispers of the Void challenges you to master VR combat — wielding both guns and laser swords — solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the secrets of ancient alien civilizations. The fate of the galaxy and all life within it rests with you!
