Sharpen your chainswords and dust off your bolters, because Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is locked, loaded, and officially in development.

Revealed during this year’s Warhammer Skulls Showcase, the sequel to the blood-splattered retro FPS is coming in 2026, thanks to Auroch Digital and Big Fan (a Devolver Digital label). And yes, the one and only Malum Caedo is back to clean house.

This time, our no-nonsense Space Marine will be gunning down heretics across brand-new locations in Warhammer 40K universe. Expect bigger fights, badder enemies, and even more gloriously over-the-top action. We’re talking classic ’90s shooter vibes with modern chaos.

New Enemies, New Powers, Same Bloody Fun

The sequel will feature upgraded weapons, brutal new abilities, and a fresh line-up of foes. Returning enemies like Chaos Cultists and those cheeky Nurglings are back, but they’re bringing friends – including the savage Bloodletters and their monstrous Juggernauts. It’s going to be a bloodbath, and we can’t wait.

Boltgun 2 is heading to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.

Oh, and There’s a Typing Game Now Too?!

Also revealed during Skulls was Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance, a hilarious free-to-play spin-off where your keyboard is your bolter. Literally.

This mad little first-person typer has you blasting enemies by hammering out random words and phrases pulled straight from 40K lore. It’s loud, fast, and totally unhinged – and it’s out now on PC via Steam.
