It’s very easy to be negative at the moment, very very easy, and I’m guilty of it. So to try and be more positive I think it’s best to focus on one of those things that’s never let me down, GAMING! Despite delays and buggy games 2020 was actually a really good year for gaming (I’m currently thoroughly enjoying Valhalla) and fingers crossed 2021 will be even better. Here’s what I’m looking forward to in 2021.

GETTING A PS5

PS5 Stock: When and Where to Buy PlayStation 5 in January 2021 - Push Square

Well duh right! With rumours of the PS5 being back in stock this week (I could even have one by time of publishing) I’ve decided that it’s time to use my trusty credit card and treat myself. Last year it was the Switch and this year it’s gotta be the PS5. Knowing I’m already missing out on games such as Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls is already killing me a little and I really can’t handle it anymore.

Persona 5 Strikers

Persona 5 Strikers To Release In February on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch

I am VERY late to the Persona party but one of the best games I played last year was Persona 5, all of the 10/10 reviews are completely correct and it is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played. So a follow up which is more of an action game! YES PLEASE. It sounds like it’s going to be the ultimately perfect Switch game and I can’t wait to see what happens after the events of 5.

More Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is launching early, alongside Xbox Series X - CNET

Ok this is a bit of a cheat one but Valhalla is the game I’ve started 2021 off with, and I’m having a good time. I think I’ve been fortunate to get to it after it’s been patched and have only experienced a couple of small bugs. Despite those bugs this game is absolutely sublime, raiding as a Viking has to be one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in a Creed game and this entry has only solidified that Assassin’s Creed is one of my favourite gaming franchises of all time.

More Couple gaming

Awwww I know right, expect some sort of special list on Feb 14th ;). If there’s one thing that lockdown has done it’s made my missus like games slightly more and playing games together is super fun. We’ve briefly played swords of ditto, play the obvious party ones like Overcooked, Mario Kart and Party, but the one that really changed it was….Animal Crossing. I bought it as a Christmas present but it’s actually turned out to be a really enjoyable joint game! It’s simple, fun which is really charming and well put together and if it gets her gaming then I’m happy.

All the big releases/better offering than 2020?

I could type out all of the big games I’m looking forward to this year, but I’ve done that. When it came to putting together our top games of 2020 (video below) I actually struggled because I spent most of my year playing Persona, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Assassins Creed Odyssey, and catching up on all of the Switch games. So this year I really am hoping to just play more games from this year. I got to Valhalla in the last week of the year but that’s a definite highlight for the year, and then you have LOU2 and FF7R which were amazing then….. I know the PS5 games will be up there but…..Anyway I just want to play more current games!!!!

What are you looking forward to in this year’s games? Let me know!
