Today the annual UK charity game jam ‘The Neighbourhood Jam’ was announced and will launch on June 22nd and run for two weeks, ending on July 6th.
Organised by Marina Díez (CEO & Creative Director at 3 of Cups Games, Operations Coordinator @ GamesAid, BAFTA Crew Member) and Erin Harrison (Graduate Game Designer), the #NBHJAM is a charitable game jam and this year they are fundraising for Turn2Us’s Covid-19 Grant Fund, created to help UK families in desperate need of relief grants during the pandemic as well as GamesAid and the charities they support who have also been hit hard by Covid-19.
This year participants are challenged to create accessible wholesome games that people of all ages can enjoy at home; topical themes like self-care and mindfulness in self-isolation, reflections on quarantine and lockdown in the UK.
