This week on Trash Talk, the column where I scour Reddit for the most interesting video gaming topic: What is the most disappointing game you ever played?

Oh boy, there’s so many options to choose from for this week, but my final answer has to be Redfall. I know that game has been kicked while it’s down enough, but honestly it saddens me that such an esteemed development team (Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Deathloop, Prey (2017)) could be tasked to make a paint by numbers vampire looter shooter. I never played more than one session of Redfall, largely because I find it so depressing due to the fact it’s outrageously boring.

There was potential for greatness but all of its combined elements came together to make the most half-baked game that could have been an absolute blast. The town of Redfall looked cool so that was a small consolation, emphasis on small because it was also tiny. On balance I’d rather it be that size rather than a sprawling map of nothing, but like with every other aspect of the game, it just can’t win on anything,

Let me know in the comments or on the Reddit thread what your pick would be!
